What oil weight should I use in my94 wrx???

Hi all.

Im new to this site and subarus...... so bear with my lack of knowledge!!!!
Im going to do an oil change soon on 1994 wrx and was wondering what the best weight is? Castrol reckons 5w30, shell and valvoline reckon 5w40...??? What do you guys use or what would you recommend?? Its got 176,000klms on it. Doesnt blow any smoke or use any oil.

Cheers. Thanks in advance for your replies :thumb:

I'm using millers 10-60. Don't be put off by the name millers, it's a high quality brand, certainly up there with castrol and the rest, but at a more reasonable price.

ive always used 10w40 as its in the middle of em all!
everyone will tell you different mate so its best to make your own judgment.
any of these seem fine. 5w40, 10w40, 10w,60, 15w,50
I think most people agree a 0w is too thin for cold starts so stay away from a 0w.
ive always stuck to halfords own.
