Help with my new Air Intake setup

Now that I dont need the MAF anymore, I`m going to put this setup on the car;

All fits fine but I have just one question. As you can see in the photo below, the old black airbox hose/pipe has a connection on the bottom, which is linked to the hose that goes to the black canistor by the passenger drivers side headlight. Can this now be re-configured so that the hose goes straight to the canistor or do I need to somehow connect it to the new silicone hose I`m using ?

I know quite a few people are using custom setups after removing the MAF.

Many thanks.

when i bought a k an n induction kit it had a whole in plastic so that the plastic bend can plug into it. so from there u cud cut out a hole in the pipe so that this piece can plug in an then plug back into canister but up to u

Don`t really want to cut into the silicone hose, risking a bad seal.

Anyone else ?

That would solve my problem, but it must be there for a reason ?

Anymore information would be great, as well as pics of your setups.
