Yeah, seen this on a couple Ford Forums.

You just know the drivers last words were "Watch this"

EDIT.

PS. Yes, it should have had AWD

MJW 15 May 2009 02:25 PM

It doesn't matter how many wheels have power to them if you haven't got the talent to drive it in the first place !

mrtheedge2u2 15 May 2009 03:02 PM

Anyone know the circumtances of the crash as the front and paintwork (even down the side) looks spotless

EddScott 15 May 2009 05:09 PM

Tank slapper not held, low wall/armco, ripped the rear end off?

ScoobyJawa 15 May 2009 05:13 PM

Is this the one which was hit by a lorry, when stopped sticking out in to the road a bit waiting for the dealers gate to be opened?

Spooky Mulder 15 May 2009 07:04 PM

That's right - there are no pictures of Scoobies and Evos that have had unrecoverable tank slappers.

You simply ran out of talent!

Janspeed 15 May 2009 08:58 PM

Holy crappola! :lol1:

Fabioso 15 May 2009 09:46 PM

Liked those pics :) I'd really love for Ford to make the fast Focus' AWD, but they just wont because of cost :(

Still, there is always the argument that AWD gets you into more trouble that it sorts out. So many ppl get into my car in bad weather and ask me to floor it cos its AWD and they want to see what it will do. I have to tell them that as its AWD it will get more traction and accelerate better, but still stops just as badly....which is always your problem, stopping :)

I believe it is from reading elsewhere. Apparently it was parked up awaiting a photo shoot when the lorry hit it.

Nasty site!

I saw one on the M42 this week, they do look mean on the road

Paulo P 16 May 2009 09:21 PM

It was hit up the arse by a drunk driver and punted into a ditch :( The story about the lorry wasn't true.

4 wheel drive might be good but it isn't that good :D

If my cupra had 4wd it would be slower. And if cupras had 4wd then the stage 2 cupras wldnt be doing 1/4miles in 12.8secs with only 360hp.

4wd has its benefits, but so has fwd. Apples and oranges, personally I love the fact that a stage 2 cupra will embarrass much more expensive kit on the road from rolling starts such as the audi r8 v8.

well get more info about scoobs really. Like wrx and STI quarter mile figures, what they can be tuned up to without getting a big turbo fitted and if they are relaible. Seen loads of threads about bottom ends going, and cars putting a hole in the side of the block etc.Are scoobs not as reliable as people think or are they just cases of mistreated or badly tuned engines?

Oh and I wouldnt mind meeting up with a scoob and evo local to me for a play.

Scoobs are one of the more reliable performance cars if well treated/serviced and looked after. Only issue being you get plenty of DIYer's or young chavs who buy them, mod them, don't do the necessary mapping etc, and kill engines.

Thing is, you don't usually buy a scoob for the "drag strip" as you say. I alongside many other on here are an advocate that Scoobs are more fun in the corners. Thats where the AWD system really comes into play against big power FWD cars such as yourself.

Horses for courses as you say.

YouTube - Impreza Sti 1/4 mile

I filmed this guy doing the quarter mile quicker than that with less that 350bhp. That's with 4wd. :p
