I normally go to Neil @ slowboy racing in forest hill great guy knows his stuff but it's a bit of a mission to get there . I would like to know if there is someone good nearby who is reasonable too.

If your on a budget the best option would be to DIY it, get hold of a good repair guide ;)

Budgie 14 May 2009 10:39 PM

could speak to motormasters in denham
they do know their scoobies
they did my 36k service and all my track day prep work

Mate,
Try Dr Frank'n'stew or Bod on Surreyscoobies, He did my Bugeye for LOW money and he is doing the re build on my classic soon.

JonMc 15 May 2009 06:29 PM

I'd vote for Hughberry too:thumb:

Been spot on with me for a lot of routine stuff and I'll be going back to get my tappets shimmed when I get the time.

never heard of them before are they a bak street garage lol

They're up in Rickmansworth, VAT registered and Subaru trained. It's not a sterile main stealer set up, but they have all the kit, and what they save on the cost of the premises you save in your labour rates:thumb:

^^^^ agreed

Mus - they're top guys and know what they're doing unlike some others, they're no garage like mocom or Zen etc but you get the club rate of £35 an hour for little jobs that need doing. I havent had any major work from them, but when i had my service done on wednesday Steve knew what he was doing and did everything in correct order and made sure no mess was made etc.
I would defo go back and would take tina's car there if work needed doing

I even dropped my car to them this morning to get the heat wrap put on and collected it when they were closing up (went thorpe park during the day) and that looks neatly done also and BOY has that made a difference. hes used 30 meters all on the downpipe IIRC he said he double wrapped it and put more on the upper section. Car feels great to drive and I have noticed drop in engine bay temp after giving it a good blast.

JonMc 15 May 2009 10:54 PM

They did my cambelt, and when I got it back it was making a noise. Turns out it was the belt (continental) that just seemed to make a noise on newage cars. They changed it for a dayco one, so a second cambelt change, and it was all done under warranty.

Customer service is spot on, and I'll be going back for plenty of the awkward jobs that I can't be bothered doing:D
