PS3 Query
 

just got the PS3 back after hard drive repair. Loaded call of duty last night, no problem

today it comes up with a message to perform a systems up date, try to do this and a message comes up

an error has occurred during the download operation.
A connection to the server cannot be established 80710723

internet connection is fine, using laptoip now.

can anyone help as we cant play an online game without this????

Probably just busy at the update end, it's got a net connection as it knows there's an update but can't actually get the download to perform it.

so does that mean just keep trying??

The new firmware update today will mean that the service will be pretty busy. I did mine at lunchtime and it wasn't too bad, still quite slow though.

Download it from Official PlayStation website: System Software onto a USB stick, then update your PS3. The download will take minutes.

Make sure you have this structure on your stick.....

PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP

managed to download the update.
It let me join a call of duty game half way through, no problem , when I want to have another game no go, FFS!!!!!
The disc is in but nothing is happening, what the feck have they done to it????

just tried to put a blue ray film in and nothing, its just come back from having a new laser/hard drive fitted - do some settings need to be altered at all???
Cant hear the disc spinning either>>>

should both the blue and green light be on at the front of the PS3, NOT NOTICED IT BEFORE??

eventually loaded the disc, now gone through the menu and has been waiting for a connection for about10 minutes?? IT NEVER USED TO DO THIS????
QUIT THE GAME AND THE CONSUL BEEPED TWICE AND HAS GONE TO A BLACK SCREEN - DIDNT USED TO DO THIS EITHER

I'd just get back on the phone, doesn't sound right at all
