Opinions please

Right, sold my car and about to order a new one for Sept delivery. I'll be needing an in betweeny car, requirements below.

Reasonably cheap
Reliable
Very easy to sell on quickly*
As cheap as possibel (in case I can't get rid in time for new car)

*Was thinking of old school hot hatches but can't find any that have not been chavved up. The alternative is something that a first time driver may like. So anyone who has (or is) a 17-18 yr old, what type of car is the wheels of choice for the sensible.

1.0 Yaris for less than 1500 quid, will lose peanuts in 4 months and even less to run.

MattW 14 May 2009 07:30 PM

hmm not thought of that one, can't see anything at that price though. Will have a scout on AT later. Ta

I saw about 15 on AT, some with mega miles but some with reasonable.
At least if there are some with 150k on them, shows they have potential to get there!

Mk IV golf 1.8 GTI, get a standard one with the BBS split rims. Look good and seem to hold their value. Cannot see any around at the moment but my son bought one with 58k in really nice original condition off fleabay for £2650 4 or 5 months ago.
I drive it every opportunity I get.

So I take it, it's new Audi S4 rather than second hand RS4?

What colour/spec have you gone for Matt?

MattW 15 May 2009 09:53 AM

Yup :)

Avant RS4 prices have firmed up recently, Dealers (and private0 are asking c37k for 56/07 cars and for me the figures just don't stack up. At 33k things would be different.

So am talking with a mate of a mate wink wink to get 12-15% off a new S4 Avant Stronic. I'm adding:

Hill Hold
Tyre Pressure monitor
RS4 style 19" alloys
Sat Nav with 3g music interface and 40gb hdd
B & O sounds
Privacy
Folding mirrors
Drive select full package (Dampers and Steering)
Sports rear diff
Ski Load through
Heated seats front and rear
Leather
Keyless entry
Rear side airbags
Phone prep

Also considering the black styling pack.

I'm going to go for Sprint Blue, i have that now on the S3 and it is a nice colour. the alternative was black but I know it'll be a bitch to keep clean. Silver was out as i like the contrast for the mirrors, and the grey is pure yuk.

:)

12-15% on a new one, i wouldnt waste your time mate. theres only about 3 per dealer allocation for the uk. and there aint deals on them.

If you are serious PM me. I have one confirmed quote at 10% off (including options) plus one "who can beat 10%" but am waiting for the final %age (see my post above).
