Quick launch menu on my start bar.
I have the quick launch switched on on my windows vista start bar, but somehow i have accidently deleted the 'show desktop' button, just wondering if anyone knows how to get it back?
I've had a quick look through the start menu properties but cannot find where to set it. |
right click on the taskbar and select properties.
on the task bar tab put a tick in show quick launch. Thats how it works in XP - pretty sure vista will be similar. |
sorry mate - misread your original post.
This needs a bit of jiggery pokery as these are not normal .lnk shortcuts. Open notepad and enter the following exactly; [Shell] Command=2 IconFile=shell32.dll,34 [Taskbar] Command=ToggleDesktop safe this file on your desktop and name it Show Desktop.scf - make sure to include the captial letters and the space - the name of the file becomes the hover text. This will create the correct icon on your desktop - drag this to the quicklaunch toolbar and the job's a good un. |

Brilliant.
I am guessing you will also know this one... I also somehow deleted my recycling bin link on the desktop, i have since created a shortcut to it, but its not the same as looks originally, if that makes sense, could you please explain how to set that right aswell? I'm having a sort of 'spring-clean' of my computer :lol1: |
right - testing my memory here as I dont have a Vista machine within reach.
Select Appearance and personalisation from the control panel and select personalisation Towards the left I think there is a a change desktop icons option - click this. put a tick in the check box to display the bin and hit OK |
