K&N 57i - fitting before Remap?

I have a 320bhp 03 plate WRX and have just bought a K&N 57i - can I fit this myself & run it without a remap for a few months, or will it buggar things up !?

Once I get a decat downpipe I'll be asking "Bob" for a remap "tweek" but this will be in a couple of months.

Cheers all :thumb:

tbh i wouldnt bother fitting it, the 57i is a open style filter and can draw warm air from the engine bay, your probably better off with a good panel filter in your original air box.

buy a Green group N panel filter from TSL Motorsport :thumb:

Echo about the open filter. Could you perhaps exchange it for a K&N Typhoon CAIK? A bit more money but....

As for fitting before a map, it'll be fine fitted. People get a little bit too panicky about things like that. If it was a larger CAIK like the APS one, decat or manifold then its a different matter.

(All only IMO of course..)

Surely there must be other Newage owners who have experinced the 57i and have fitted one before or after a remap ???

I just like the induction sound !!!

I've fitted a K&N Apollo CAI, very pleased with it. The intake air temp is only 2 deg C (ScanGauge II) above outside temps while moving :thumb:
