I saw your car twice yesterday on the a1 car number 20
You are right experiance is a big key,
I have been running sprints for 3 yrs
Your car with the right pilot would do damage,
Your 30-130mph time and 1/4 tell me your not the quickest gear changer etc,,
With more goes at different events i am sure you will improve

Yes I am sure your right, it's my first year with the car at this spec and it is a different world to my previous 400 bhp spec. I need to get a little more aggresive with my changes on the strip for sure and will be giving it a go this weekend, 10's are deffo there somewhere ;)

Here's a vid of my quickest run 43. something yesterday for those that are interested :)

Cracking day out yesterday at ScoobySprint..... roll on Round 3 and well done to everyone else that took part.

I am now throwing money at tuition..... just spent all day with an Advanced Driving Instructor at Bedford today with one to one training. Way too much to learn and change and not enough years left for me to do it! :D He basically ripped my driving ability (read - lack of) to shreds. Apart from holding the steering wheel, I do nothing right! Well worth the money though and he taught me loads on car control and how to driver a damn sight smoother..... just need to put it in to action now naturally. :(

More practice (based on the tuition) and hopefully I can at least do my car some kind of justice.

I hope to be able to use full boost at a future ScoobySprint event. Well I tried 2bar for one run on Sunday, but I was slower! lol 1.5bar was enough for me. :D

Shaun,

Was that at Bedford Autodrome ? Using your car or one of theirs ? Could you PM me the details please ?

Well done all,

It just goes to show what a good all round package the spec-c is :)

i forgot to ask, why did prodrive take bumper off and add an extension to the exhaust? silencer? was it too loud?

how did they get through round 1 without it?

ScoobySport.co.uk 07 June 2009 01:35 PM

Hi Eggy

That was a real shame abotu the bumper. It looked bloody terrible in my opinion (and it meant the ScoobySport logo was removed from the back of the car! :D Mind you, with that monstrousity hanging off the back of the car, I'm not sure I'd want the scoobysport logo on it! :D ;)

Yes, it was too loud unfortuantely. It only just scraped through at round 1, and needed to be taken to a very quiet area of the airfield to be tested. At round 2, it just didn't make it, so needed to run the silencer they use at places like MIRA, when they're shaking down gearboxes or whatever.

Its amazing it still performed so well. But also goes to show that db's are not necessary to be fast.

The big shame of it, is that the WRC car is WAY noisier when its sat there static, just revving to 4,500. When its under load and moving, its so much quieter - and certainly immeasurably quieter than the bikes.

But the required test is a static noise test, so they're the rules. :(

No noise levels at the pod :norty: should be interesting :D bring on the loud boys :lol1:
