Doesnt seem to have affected Derbyshire, they are ploughing ahead with hugely expensive speed monitoring systems. Even though the force claims it is short of money and will have to can 45 officers.

Seems to me that reducing Traffic Police and using speedcams instead to catch and fine motorists, and then keeping the cash means that they only want the cash for themselves and don't actually care about the people with no insurance and dangerous or untaxed cars.

Nice to actually see some figures that are in mainstream media confirming what we already knew. What really is amazing is that the gov actually made these changes. Still, what they give with one hand, they take away with another......the return of the fuel tax escalator being one example. :(
