replacement for the p1

right then just a quick question,
as some may of seen i am in two minds to sell up or drop a 2.5 and md321t+ into my p1 but at a cost of 11k that along with the sale of my p1 would give me plenty of cash to buy a replacement impreza of a newer year, lower millage etc so i have been thinking if i was to replace my p1 what impreza would follow it.
and the only one in the budget i can think of which has always been a car i wanted was a litchfield mk1 type 25 (as i dont have £28-£30k for a mk2)

what are your thoughts?
what impreza would you replace a p1 with?

regards
steve

spec c ra r

dont know what they are going for though.

if the body condition on your p1 is mint, i may consider the build as the only thing that would be stopping me from doing it , is the fear of rust and a bad shell which you've spent thousands on

EddScott 27 April 2009 10:05 AM

Theres a white hawk eye on pistonheads with about 400HP. I would imagine that would be a reasonable replacement.

stevie1982 27 April 2009 10:57 AM

RA-R are a little to stripped out in my opinion i do like a little comfort and i was not looking to spend 18-22k on a car more around 15k which with what i owe on the p1 once sold the change plus the 11k would put me around that figure i could strectch a little more.
also i like the idea of a limited numebr hence the p1 and the type25 only a limited number made.

driven a wr1 and i have to be honest i did not think to much of them, understered like a bugger and felt slow and bulky

but i am liking the type20 or 25 option

Completely agree :)

Mus 28 April 2009 05:32 PM

mod the classic im in a similar position as you sell my classic and get a newer car but relised that i had to run a lot more power to compensate for the weight. 11 k for 2.5 and an md321t thats a lot of money. ive just sent my car to engine tuner for a forged 2.5 a s206 turbo and im not paying anything near that figure. have a chat with martyn about your 2.5 build. and p1 are becoming more rare day by day its a very unique car that you dont get to see every day.

Sell it first then decide, it might not be that easy to sell for good money.

IggyRB320 28 April 2009 06:03 PM

RB320, but there again I am biased!

TonyBurns 28 April 2009 06:14 PM

A nice MY05-07 JDM twin scroll STI (none Spec C as you have already specified) hopefully in T20 form with 400bhp ;) that should keep you busy, far better than a WR1 in every aspect and a great drivers car :D (even in standard form)

Tony:)

stevie1982 29 April 2009 09:34 AM

biggest problem i have is if i mod the p1 i will love it, if i sold up and bought a soec c, type 25 etc i would love that to arrhhhh. and if i mod i will prob feel like i should of sold and if i sell i will prob think i should of built the engine. ha though i do say it is not a bad place to be sitting right now

XRS 29 April 2009 10:21 AM

Litcho has a nice T25 up for sale at the moment. Very exclusive and incredible value.
Go gor it! :)

stevie1982 29 April 2009 12:28 PM

^^^^^^^^ Like he says..........;)

Stevie, you,re a nightmare..:lol1::lol1: you said you were having it done the other-day to me.:lol1:

stevie1982 29 April 2009 01:38 PM

hi pete i know i did but i came across the type25 on saturday and spoke with ian to arrange a viewing. its just the overall cost of teh engine shocks me as 11k is a hell of a lot of cash to spend and i dont know if i can justify that amount were a 05 type25 can be had for 14k and even a 03 type 20 in the for sale section is up at £11250 which is the same amount as the build so i could have both at that point so what do you do

Pete 29 April 2009 01:54 PM

I hear what you,re saying mate, it is a MASSIVE commitment spending that kind of money, have a good think and then go with what you feel is best for you.

I understand exactly what you,re saying about a newer car etc, but a forged classic will be a hoot of a car, you can always break it when you come to sell it to get abit more money back.

All the best with what you choose Stevie.
