A new run around
 

Hi guys,

We are after a new run around to replace our Astra 1.6 16V and have shorted listed three possible replacements

new Shape Clio DynamiqueS 1.6
Fiesta ZetecS 1.6
Coars SXI 1.4

Any one have any practical experience of any of these cars? what are they like, reliability, build quality, drive, economy etc

Any advice and info welcome - have already posted on the relevant marques forums but obviously they tend to be biased so looking for an impartial view - If it was your money which one would you buy?

we will be buying secondhand - max £7000.

a fait 500 Abarth is out of our price range unfortunatly

No one on here got any experience of these cars?

also now looking at the 1.2TCE clio as that was brought to our attention the other day - if anyone has got any info or own one of these engined Clio's I would be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

Know someone who owned a 1.6 zetec S for a couple of years. He really rated it especially in the corners. Downsides it can get rattly after a while and the other thing to watch out for if you do motorway miles is that the engine is revving quite high at 70/80 making quite a din in the cabin.

Personally wouldn't buy French. No experience of the Corsa.

Some other hatches in your price range spring to mind - Skoda Fabia, Honda Civic
