Very nice indeed-just like mine.
Wheels look the dogs.

JonMc 25 April 2009 06:26 PM

Very nice, bit of lowering and they will fill the arches perfect:norty:

500 25 April 2009 06:33 PM

Wheels look well :thumb:

borderlinechris 25 April 2009 06:43 PM

id keep the bumper strips on myself so you dont get any dings(unlike mine.....)

the wheels look sweet!!!!

Spruxxx 25 April 2009 06:44 PM

thanks all, glad you like them.

excellent choice of car mouse555 :D they're rota grid drifts in 18x8.5 et 44. new pcd of 5x100 hence fit my wrx.

tyres are 225/40/18 eagle f1s and no issues whatsoever with prodrive springs...(already lowered a bit jon, just not as much as yours...yet :thumb:)

powerwrx have you switched your gras yet? i hope not they look great!

cheers chris! yeah this is definitely a tricky one - the combination of clumsy parkers as well as my own passengers means they've definitely paid for themselves over time...but i'd like to see the bumpers looking smoother, as well as the door creases. hmmm...:wonder:

mr terzo 25 April 2009 07:10 PM

very sweet mate looks great

I was thinking about 60mm drop, rolled arches and loads of neg camber all around, completely undriveable, but would look:cool::D

The Dogs B******s 25 April 2009 07:18 PM

Nice:thumb:

Wagon Gaz 25 April 2009 08:20 PM

Like the look there :thumb:

Flaps 26 April 2009 09:51 AM

I tried those on mine via the Rare Rims virtual fitting bay, my car looked exactly like that! :lol1: They were high up on my list but I ended up going for the GRA's as an offer came up that I couldn't refuse.

It sits nice on those springs, i'd not want to go any lower. Do you have any problems with speed bumps? I've a splitter on mine and lowering's next.

I've been thinking about swapping my low level spoiler but the more I see recently, the more I like it.

  50mm just ain't good enough eh! well image is everything these days :D

when i see a lot of us imprezas with super-aggressive fitments i do wonder whether their drivers have ever seen a speed bump...

thanks all for the kind words...

JonMc 26 April 2009 11:13 AM

50mm is great for driving and it handles a dream with no catching. Never have any problems with speed bumps either:thumb:

I would never go 60mm on my car:D, but with the wider wheels that you have the slammed look works. My Rotas are only 8" wide:(

Spruxxx 26 April 2009 11:16 AM

hey flaps yeah i tried the virtual fitting bay too, pleasantly surprised it worked quite well! :lol1: gras look ace too!

the prodrive springs only went on a week ago, so i guess they still need a bit of time to settle. can't rate them highly enough for sharpening up the handling with no adverse affects - the ride is no worse than before even on vicious bumps. rides nice and flat on acceleration and braking as well as sharper turn in, the lurch has gone - this is how the car should have been set up in the first place.

with the 18s as well it's marginally worse than the 17s, but so far there's not a lot in it to be honest. i'll get a chance later today to check it over some real rough roads and bumps. if you've got 18s already there's nothing to lose!

yep apart from more handling mods like rear arb etc, the planned cosmetic stuff was sti winglets and spoiler, but now i'm not so sure myself. i'd do the springs first and see what you think...

PS and although the grids won't clear brembos, i'm told ap calipers will fit fine ;)

ah i see...you meant on MY car :lol1:

i'd happily go a bit lower, but 60mm...well perhaps if lived on the bonneville salt flats, japan, or er...belgium :)

right off to watch the btcc on itv4. although i am cheering my friend on in the marathon at the same time, wherever he is!

JonMc 26 April 2009 11:49 AM

If I had my time again I would have bought BC coilovers and I would be changing the ride height almost weekly. For shows, 60-70mm drop, for daily driving leave it at about 30mm, and then for club meets, driving days set to about 40-50mm:thumb:

Just watching the marathon too, while nursing a blister from my 12.5 mile Sunday morning run, the times these guys are doing is depressing me:(

wiley 26 April 2009 12:19 PM

They look great mate

The Veteran 26 April 2009 07:29 PM

They do look so good.

M444GY 26 April 2009 07:47 PM

looks good mate :thumb:

Spruxxx 26 April 2009 11:04 PM

thanks all for the comments. i'm very happy with the end result, they sit a lot more flush than i expected them to on 225s. and they look even better in the metal than in photos :thumb:

a bit lower would be good, but i'll see what what happens with a few passengers and a guitar amp in the boot first!

jon my mate texted me to say he's happy with his result, he did it in 3 hours 8 mins, 3m faster than he did boston on monday. i dunno, he's also done paris berlin etc last year, i remember the days when he was as lazy as me :D

lloydee 26 April 2009 11:55 PM

Nice.
Never seen scoob with bump strips, were these a factory add on?

Spruxxx 27 April 2009 02:39 PM

lloydee, yes they were...also the plastic headlight covers were on, but they're gone now.

cheers veightkiller!

it was too hot yesterday, didn't do a very good job of cleaning the car...doh!

scoober101 27 April 2009 06:23 PM

Nice wheels! They suit the car really well!

What size are they Spruxxx?

They look quite wide, 7.5 or 8 depth?

Spruxxx 27 April 2009 06:40 PM

ta scoober, 8.5 :thumb:

Flaps 27 April 2009 07:42 PM
