London Olympics 2012

Given a massive thumbs-up from the Olympic Committee ..... "Best preparation for any Olympic Event I have ever seen"

Too often we put ourselves down, think we cannot do anything great, everything is negative ... well, this is an even better achievement in that case!

I know it's early days .. but it looks good ..... I blame Labour myself! :D

I have been pro Olympics from the start, I dont mine paying the walnut whip in return for the summer we will get in 2012.
The only thing that troubles me, well two things.
1, I am moaning on NSR and I try my best not to moan, I tend to just argue.
2, Being on time and budget is BIG news, As Chris Rock said Thats what they are supposed to be.... Low expectation having mother fu*&ers.

But it does look good and I hope its chance to show the world that British (and Italian) builders and designers are the best in the world.

Great at planning everything. When it comes to implementing it we fek it all up!!!! lol

r32 24 April 2009 09:09 AM

Lets hope its all ready to go when its needed. Plenty of time to screw up yet, but I dont think that will happen. Pity most of it takes place in London.

There we go, a negative ..... we are well beyond the planning stage!! :D

SunnySideUp 24 April 2009 09:11 AM

Weymouth gets a good shout too!!

Timwinner 24 April 2009 09:13 AM

I think Bracknell might have the mountain bikes, and did Bournemouth get something too?
I know Ripley just missed out. And I think I heard that MK might have had something?

r32 24 April 2009 09:16 AM

Is there a list of what happens where? I would particularly like to go to watch the bikes, will they use the Manchester velodrome? Is it Bracknell for the mtb's ?

Timwinner 24 April 2009 09:18 AM

Found this for a start
BBC SPORT | Olympics & Olympic sport | London 2012 | London's 2012 Olympic venues
its not very comprehensive but its a start.

I believe that the Olympics are completely in budget, i also believe that when MP's tell us they bought porn and charged it as an expense its a mistake;) They are very good at keeping us in the loop:)

IOC inspectors, who finished a three-day visit to London on Thursday, said the preparations were "impressive" and unaffected by the recession.
well done:luxhello: cus when i'm finding it so tough that i can't afford to travel to work least i know the recession hasn't affected the Olympics:thumb:

I really don't understand this gripe, it's the LONDON Olympics! :cuckoo:

Simon C 24 April 2009 01:31 PM

Pity most of it will be pulled down after it.

Their building new ranges at Woolwich when they have Bisley!!! Yet Bisley has everything thats needed including pistol ranges.

mamoon2 24 April 2009 02:17 PM

I hope it goes well, and i've faith that it will. We did a good job of the Commonwealth games up here in Manchester and all the money put into that really helped the city out.

I like visiting London and think the transport system is very good (although manic at rush hour) I'm sure they will come up trumps

Leslie 24 April 2009 02:25 PM

It seems like a good start, hope it continues that way.

I've said it before, those Poles do a damned good job :thumb:

hoskib 24 April 2009 03:36 PM

remember the aggro when it went massively over budget? it could end up costing £20billion now and no-one would bat an eyelid given the debt we've got now. it would be a drop in the ocean.

what once looked like awful timing couldn't be better now:D

yes it's the british pessimistic way, but i'm sure we'll find some way of fecking it up yet. :thumb:

scarey 24 April 2009 04:04 PM
