Tyre choice on Classic Impreza

Hi guys,

Quick question, whats the best size of tyre to go for on 17's on a 99 classic?

215/40 r17

or

225/40 r17

Or some other size?

Cheers.

Got 205/45s on mine, which was standard size for the P1.

Think most people go for 215/40s as theres wider choice available. Think 225s are for newages?

I found that on my 99 wrx, the 205/45/17 was the best choice.
I found that my previous set of 215/45/17 used to rub on the rear, under hard cornerring.
I think that 225/40/17 will be a bit to big, but you can use the 215/45/17 i think.
If you have a stiffer suspension setup comapred to a wrx, then you can use a bigger tyre size, as there will be less body roll, and less chance for the tyres to rub against the arches.
Vj.

Oooooops!
I would stop that order and order the correct size that has been pointed out to you already, that is either 215/40/17 or 205/45/17 as the 215/45/17's can rub and they will put your speedo out (hence 215/40/17's are used as they are very close to the rolling circumference of the 205/45/17 tyres)

Tony:)
