Uk Border Agency - why bother...

Caught a bit of this show.
The had an operatiuon to catch and deport illeglas.

The caught 9 illegal in Stretford.
The released 9 back into the community on bail (or similar) and 7 dissappeared.

Now it might be me being thick, but, if they entered the country illegally, worked illegally then why on earth would you release someone who has already broken two laws and has scant regard for the rules and laws of this country!

h and i was involved with pitching for A UKBA awards ceremony to regognise outstanding performance from the staff.

They where happy to spend some £80-110K+ on this sort of ceremony, perhaps better spent put towards detention camps and places to keep the illegals who they let go on a promise to return!

In this day and age people should not be able to slip into the UK undetected, let alone work and live here once they slip through!

Timwinner 23 April 2009 10:24 AM

For anyone who has been to New York or LA I am sure they will concur when I say thats how things should be done.
You just get the impression there not messing about, You come back to Heathrow and see a work experience kid chatting to his mate waving hoards of people through the gate.

This is where the country fails with immigrants. Cant keep tabs on who is here and its shocking. If they dont know what people are doing over here how are they fit to run the country in the first place.

stilover 23 April 2009 10:29 AM

That is why they come here. Because they know we're a soft touch.

They also know that if they get up to no good, and get caught, they'll still be allowed to stay. Even though they shouldn't be here.

Welcome to (not so) Great Britain.

And yet...........go over on a cross channel ferry from Dover to Calais. On the way back, you queue up to 45 minutes to have your passport checked, your vehicle is then "security checked", and when you get INTO the UK, you have to filter through an awful, dark building with catsclaw immobilisers and loads of folk in fluo vest giving you hard stares, checking who, and what is inside the cars.

Meanwhile, coaches and lorries sail through..............

I couldn't care less who comes here as long as they don't try to claim any benefits.
Obviously if they turn out to be criminals, they can f*ck off.

Is that Enrique Illeglas, the latest Spanish singing sensation? What's he done wrong? :Suspiciou

I would much rather illegals and undesirables where not able to get in and if they got in where ejected with any fuss or appeals to slow it down, caught and gone, if not info on where to put them then detention camps on bread and gruel and a harsh regeime until they remembered where they came from. DNA testing would narrow it right down anyhow!

I also care because i do not want terrorists, murderers, rapists and other criminals getting into this country!

We have porous borders and rubbish policies to capture then eject people who have no right to be here in the first place!

I'd like to know who to blame. I don't think it is Borders and Immigration. They did their bit (in this case) and detained the ill eagles. As illeglas they should have been refused bail as they could not be relied upon to be present at a future hearing.

Seems even ill-eagles take flight if the opportunity arises. :D

<sorry>

Can't believe how easy it is to enter the country without any sort of personal information. Its a gross failure of their duty to let criminals in.

estimated 750,000-1,000.000 so far and counting, It just seems pointless to catrch them in the UK and just let them go. IMHO we should get the army involved with the patrol of our ports and borders and any captured retirned to country of origin or back to country they departed from, and get caught a second time, drop em in the sea;)

DCI - Well played and what a card sir!:)

ronjeramy 23 April 2009 01:19 PM

Paul the thing is, the 30000 they refused were probably pi$$$ed up coming back off holiday and lost or forgoten their passport :D

Why do people want borders all over the place?
It is like being a dog who is kept on a lead the whole time.
I thought most people on here would be against the nanny state and being told what they can do and where they can go.
I don't see why I can't go and live where ever I like on this planet.
Why does anyone have the right to stop me?
