need a re-map?
i got a fmic fitted and i have been told it will be fine and someone slse said it will need to be mapped?
i been tolld so many things i dunno what to belive its a 2000'' uk turbo with full de-cat.... |
if you have just fitted an FMIC you will need a remap, the ignition and timing will need to be altered to get it tuned to your engine properly.
Personally I would not add such a major mod to my car without planning to get it mapped straight away, and would not drive it on boost until it was mapped. |
You've fitted a FMIC and your only other mod is a de-cat?
|
fitting a FMIC will cause the car to under fuel and thats not good... esp if you have a heavy right foot.
that coupled with the de cat means that the fuelling will be totally wrong now so a remap is essential! dont rag it until you've had it mapped to avoid damage to the engine |
i havent fitted it it was on the car,it isnt plumbed it...the pipes are all there
cheers |
ah right you didn't say that it sounded like you had it all plumbed in. In that case try and get a few other mods lined up, (fuel pump, injectors, turbo etc) get your fmic plumbed in and then get it remapped, that will put a massive grin on your face :thumb:
|
you dont need the FMIC until you are running over 300bhp, if you plumb it in b4 hand all you'll do is increase turbo lag.
i also agree with gettin a few other mods on 1st to aim for over the 300 mark then remap! ;) |
arh sorry it came across like that,i have a walbro fuel pump...
well at least it look good.... i got told i will get more lag...well thats sorted then more mods on the way!! thanks guys |
cool let us know how you get on !
|
yes will do thanks for the help
