Fault Code P0031, Help Please

Does anyone know which sensor this relates to on my 2002 STI Prodrive, if so where is it located and where would be the best place to find a replacement? Taffyboy

I seen one of my mates playing around with his ecu today!

All the fault codes are on jollygreenmonsters website under the help section!
JollyGreenMonster.co.uk

I think 31 is Throttle position sensor, I could be wrong though!

P0031 AFAIK is the OBD II code for a Faulty front 02 (lambda sensor).

This senses the oxygen in the exhaust gases and passes the info to the ECU to tell it what to do in terms of injecting fuel into the cylinders to get the correct fuel / air mixture when pootling about town (open loop).

When you decide to give it a bit of hard right foot the ECU ignores the exhaust gasses and uses a look up table in the ECU to work out what fuel should go into the engine for maximum power while destroying the planet's ozone layer (closed loop) :D

If you are not technically minded (like me) I'd look for the nearest scooby specialist for help :D

Thank you for that, do you know where abouts it is situated on the engine, any help/advice would be appreciated - Thank you, Taffyboy.

As above and they are that price from the main dealer. They can be sourced new for about £120 from Just Lambda, Suppliers of Bosch and NTK lambda sensors including zirconia and titania sensors by post. Just need to give the guy the o/e part number. Mine arrived next day. Its still a denso part he supplys so same as o/e just not subaru badged. Had mine in 6 months now with no problems.
