Reserving Seats on a Plane
 

I'm going on holiday next week on an all inclusive with the wife and little one (first holiday with baby). Just wondering we don't have our plane seats reserved, if we turn up early enough for checking in are we likely to get seats together. It's too late to reserve the outbound seats, i can do the return flights but they want nearly £30 for these.

BTW. Flying with Thomas Cook to Turkey.

Turn up early and you will very likely get seats together, its very unusual to split groups up unless your late at check in.

If your going to the Lara Beach area you wont want to come home. :D

Yes you should get seats together

We had this a bit back, and I spent some time chatting to the airline about it

When you book your holiday you are just given any old seat numbers, just so that they are allocated, then what happens, is that the morning of your flight the airline staff sort out all the seats and passengers and assign people seats together who are travelling together

Sometimes they cant always be exact and the odd time we have ended up sitting apart, but it is a rareity

The other half will make me turn up early, so hopefully it should be okay. Just hope the little one behaves herself on the plane. She's normally quite good apart from her scream that isn't so quiet. How do toddlers react to takeoff?

My son was 2 when we went to Alcudia,3 & 4 when we went to Antalya two years on the trot and he was fine on all flights.

I wouldnt like to do a night flight with a toddler though...

He has a "plane favorites" set up on YouTube as he loves planes taking off and landing, but he also has an unhealthy fascination with crashes... :eek:

in my experience all my 5 kids go thru a period at around 2 or 3 when they suddenly realise that its not natural to sit in a metal cigar tube at 30,000 ft and they get a bit frightened

the only real problems are the change of pressure on take-off/landing, they need something to suck to clear the ears
