Advice with garage damaging hub

HI guys, just after a little advice as i havent a clue how to go about this.
A couple of months ago i took my hub to a garage i used before to press out the bearing and replace with ha new one i supplied.
When i got back there he had told me the hub had cracked and is buggered, he said it took 30ton before it moved. fair enough i thought.

when i inspected it, it looked odd i asked him which way he pressed it out and he said out through the front, i asked him shouldnt it have gone through the back, he said very abruptly "do you think you know better then!" i left it there as i wasnt completely sure.

I have had a new hub and have pressed the bearing out myself, on checking and confirming with a few people on here and localy what he has done is pressed it out through the machined ring on the outside edge of the hub which is there to stop the bearing falling out the end.
Pic of damaged hub (sorry for crappy pics)

You can clearly see that the bearing should be pressed out the back where the circlip sits as there is no way it will go pass that seating ring without damaging something.
What is the procedure to claim agains this garage for the cost of the new hub?
I really havent got a clue about any of this and would really appreciate any help and advice anyone can give me.
Cheers, Nolan

Sounds like he didn't know what he was doing, and got funny when questioned to hide it!
Best thing is to show him the hub now the bearings removed, see what he says.

ok cheers guys.
I think i will try the citizens advice as they are not far from me. do you think it would be worth going down to show the guy his mistake or go straight to the cab for advice?
Also it was in the middle of febuary this happened, have i left it too long?

I did take my cars there regular because there was a ex subaru mechanic working for him and did a good job every time, but i hadnt realised he had finished there and the owner did this mess.
