Our new addition...

a new kid was far too much trouble, so enter Oscar, from the RSPCA.
11 month old, overweight, and unbelievably strong!

nixxon 15 April 2009 10:14 PM

You been polishing him?
He looks a beauty.

dunx 16 April 2009 02:43 PM

Handsome lad... enjoy the exercise !

dunx

P.S. He will be over-weight if you feed him on a diet of young kids.... ;)

Matteeboy 16 April 2009 02:46 PM

Lovely looking dog!
Is he a thoroughbred?
Always on the lookout for a good stud dog for our black lab bitch...!

Glowplug 16 April 2009 02:57 PM

Lovely looking dog mate:thumb:
Labs are greedy bastrds and pile the weight on. Looks fit enough in pic 4 tho.
11 months old= 1 meal a day, NO tip bits and as much exercise a day as you can give him.
Good luck, but most of all enjoy:thumb:

Reffro 16 April 2009 04:35 PM

My old next door neighbours had a black lab called Oscar, the dumbest most disobedient dog I ever knew.

Love the last picture! :lol1:

Janspeed 16 April 2009 07:05 PM

Looks great!

Great to see someone helping out abandoned animals instead of "buying" them!

Torquemada 16 April 2009 07:08 PM

Nice one. Lovely looking pooch :)

Matteeboy 16 April 2009 07:43 PM

For the black lab dissers - ours is incredibly obedient and super fit.
Just need handling properly.

I have a lab / pointer cross (chocolate) that i got from the dogs trust. He's far more intelligent than the boxer he shares a house with. Eats like nothing else though but can run like fook.
Great dogs & well done on the rescue part mate. :thumb:

we had a similar one when I was a kid which would eat anything and everything.
Oscar's about 5kg overweight, which is affecting his shoulders, but I don't think he's really been walked before. He's quite small for a dog, but bl**dy strong when he's trying to introduce himself to other dogs!

Leslie 17 April 2009 01:35 PM

He looks a bit of a star, they are outstanding dogs and very good with children

Keep him jumping about like that and he will soon be at the right weight. Doesn't look that overweight anyway.

Les :)

Of course - I forgot!
Handsome looking dog though.
Hope to breed ours in about a year or so.

He looks really nice, good pics by the way. Good of you to give a rescue dog a loving home.

Cupramax 17 April 2009 02:31 PM

Lol, is he saying, pull my finger and I'll give you a present http://www.jonrb.com/emoticons/rofl.gif
