Compression wasn't just down on that cylinder, there was none!

Either a valve has gone or the piston has. My money is on a piston with a bloody great big hole in it, poissibly even a knackered head and a knackered block.

Hence why I asked about breathing...

Be nice if it was just a valve. :)

ouch!!!! bit gutting

what's the plan now then..........

Granby 02 April 2010 08:42 PM

F*** knows, gonna ponder over the weekend what to do

trails 02 April 2010 08:45 PM

I see what you mean about the bore

V4JDMSTi 02 April 2010 11:35 PM

Is that too much damage to have it bored out and fit larger pistons / rings? or is that not a good idea with scoob engines?

dazdavies 03 April 2010 12:00 AM

Normally I love being bang on the money and right about something not on this occasion though. :(

Can't tell from the pictures but looks like you might be able to rebore and drop some oversize pistons in. Crank and rods should be ok but I'd get some new rod bolts just to be on the safe side.

Head looks salvageable but again it's hard to tell from the pictures.

My offer still stands with the SCDB by the way.
