Coolant header tank and overflow question
Someone will call me a tit for asking this but I need to get the all clear from fellow owners to put my mind to rest.:wonder:
I've recently had a turbo change. So of course once the water pipes to turbo come off you loose coolant fluid etc. On checking the car once the change over was done there was enough water/coolant on the header tank. But noticed the the other day that the coolant overflow tank was very low. So looked at the header tank and again there was plenty of fluid in there. So not to panic. But playing on my mind now before the turbo change my overflow tank was pretty much up to the "full" reading and header tank levels all spot on. My question is. I filled it to above the "min" level in the overflow tank. But should I add more like it was prior to the turbo change with more water or leave it as it is as it is only a over flow.:Suspiciou Steve |
I know this does not help steve but my radiator header tank is almost dry, where should it be filled to?

Next to the radiator, it should have a level in it as well!

Sorry! newb! http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...arthingkit.jpg yellow cap bottom right corner of picture next to the battery (may be different on other version imprezas mine's an early one). The cap/tube actually does have some coolant in it just when glance at it it looks like it doesn't ,there is a 'F' on the outside and the coolant should be up to that level |
oopps....... that will need an empty tomorrow then!
will I need to empty it or will it empty it's self? you live and learn! |
Empty it down to the max line.
|
Cheers!
