Bleeping noise

Hi

When accelerating in a scoob a bleeping noise is made to say you need to change gears what is this thing called ? :wonder:

Thanks Tom

Basically it's a reminder to shift gears when you hit the rev limit - my Sti 02 had a small red light that blinked at that time, fitted in the rev counter - the limit is adjustable too, well it was on my old car..............I think they're known as shift lights/warnings ??

shift light

shift light alarm/light

On Newage+ this can be adjusted on the dash.

Do you not have the hand book mate :wonder:
Its all in there if you do.

ray1501 28 July 2009 08:15 PM

Nah, don't have handbook and have tried looking up solutions but didn't get anywhere?

If nobody can help, I can get my hand book and post some details but It will be for a hawkeye and I'm not sure if it will be the same

On my Newage WRX you start the engine, then turn the left stalk which protrudes from the cluster. The LCD display then shows a number which relates to the RPM at which the light will come on. You can also turn the 'beep' on or off too. Once you are happy just wait a couple of seconds and the settings are stored. Drive away and have fun ! Hope that helps mate, but if not let me know and I will give you some more details. :-)

I could give it a name .... but won't :lol1:

Quite why some people need a likkle light or likkle bleep to tell them when to change gear is staggering - ;)

niktiler 28 July 2009 09:11 PM

Why do you need it i know when to change gear :brickwall

Try a twisty circuit, with traffic, and 400+ bhp, it can all get a bit exciting sometimes.....

LOL

P.S. TBH I change up a 6500 rpm on track as it's torque that counts.

I suppose that I come from a time when men could drive extremely well - not needing traction control, anti-lock brakes, and - worse - something to tell you when to change gear

A time when men were men and women were glad of it .... today's kiddies show why women are much more agressive - no real men about who know when to change gear ;)
