lol, ah, ya fixed the link (well nearly, lol) :thumb:
Yeah, I'm not so sure how they would install a meter in each of the flats where I live, it would be a big job and I'm not having them knocking holes about the place! |
Water police could ban power showers... and summer bills may soar with a meter in every home | Mail Online
I think its got more to do with water wasting than just power showers. All homes should have a water meter as were using too much water. Well all the reserviors round here are overflowing at present, so who's wasting water now? |
All this eco crap is bursting my tits! *Goes off and turns all the taps/showers in the house on just for the hell of it* ;) :D

I was startled by the silence from the so-called green groups when Johnathon Porritt released his "Sustainable Britain" report last week. None of them seemed particularly keen to step up to the mark and say publically that the population should be cut in half. They are so loud when it comes to screwing the last pennies from our wallets but their inability to address this funadmental issue of sustainability makes them look like the bunch of unwashed hypocrites we know them as.
UK population must fall to 30m, says Porritt - Times Online |

Perhaps if they just fixed the leaking pipes underground, we wouldn't have any problems. Thames Water is currently leaking around 750Ml/d (i.e. 750 million litres per day).

Still some of you seem to be suseptable to this nonsense A bit short on substance, apart from water meters. You're right though, power showers aren't mentioned, just 'efficient showers' ... Haver a read and figure out why people are so sceptical of things such as this. Dave PS: hint: it's a little short on substance, apart from water meters and how to base charges on them. Though, to be fair, it does also mention rain water harvesting and other techniques which should be implemented asap. Not much on what industry should do though ..... |
We have a water meter - great way of taxing you...spend three quarters of the year in the rain then blame global warming for your lack of water rather than profit making water companies who pay money out to shareholders rather than get their infrastructure sorted...(sorry climate change I must try harder).
About 7 years ago the eco-fascists were telling us that the reservoirs and water table might never recover from the droughts that were going us all to get used to a Mediterranean climate. There must be millions of British gardens with an empty spot where their Mediterranean palm was. The British public has the memory of a Goldfish and just loves getting shafted these days. Why is that? |
So I guess we'll look forward to being banned from using the hose pipe for watering the garden, cleaning the car, encouraged flush when absolutely necessary, etc etc and fined for breaking the ban. All this while councils continue to water the public gardens using hoses and sprinklers during the ban for the rest of us!
|
I have a power shower and a meter in my flat. OK I live alone, but still.
Have a guess how much I spend on water a quater.. Go on.... £16!!!! So that argument doesnt really hold up. |
Check out this quote from the Eco Impartial BBC website:
And the situation will worsen as the climate changes, report authors say. For example, they say they have recently assessed how potential changes in rainfall could affect average river flows at different times of the year by 2050. The report says: "The work shows that by 2050 river flows in winter may increase by 10% to 15%. "However, river flows in the late summer and early autumn could reduce by over 50%, and as much as 80% in some places. "These patterns would result in a drop in total annual average river flow of up to 15%." Now how can they possibly know that by 2050 summer river levels will drop by up to 80%? They wouldn't have a clue about river levels next year! It's just more computer projection rubbish. |
They just want us all to have dreadlocks and stink to high heaven like they do!
What will be next?, dishwashers, having a brew, headlight washers. Wankers need to find a better way of amusing themselves! |
Water shortage? What water shortage?
We've got plenty at our house - we just turn the taps on & it comes out; bathroom, kitchen, toilet, even outside, they are all the same. Try it, turn the taps on, and see, it doesn't stop, so there can't be a shortage? Don't know what these dreadlock drongos are on about?:cuckoo::cuckoo: |
