Wet boot mat
 

After heavy downpoors, I notice that my boot mat is wet. I suspect it is where the spoiler has been fitted as it seems to be in two main patches.

Any advice what I can use to seal where the spoiler attaches to the boot.

I didnt fit the spoiler, it what came with the car.

They all leak!! It wouldn't be a scooby if it didn't smell like a musty wet dog when you open the bootlid. I've resealed my spoiler and it still leaks. Have heard water can get in behind the rear light clusters. Thats my next port of call when I can be bothered :lol1::lol1::lol1:

mine does..or did, so cleared the garage out!

damn.. mine does too!... it gets into the spare wheel compartment and makes a lil' puddle in there!...

any solutions?

it WILL be the rear lights, I had it when i first got my impreza, I had water in the spare wheel and both side compartments! lol

Subaru sell the water seal stuff, it is real messy stuff!!
or you could just use clear sealant, thats what i did and mine have been fine for nearly 3 years!! lol

There's not many Scoobs that dont leak from what Ive heard.
Ive finally cured mine after weeks of fixing one leak after another.

Rear lights resealed. Check
Spoiler resealed. Check
Boot lid seal replaced. Check
Vent flappy things sealed. Check
10mm hole in floor:lol1: Welded/Painted. Check

Ya fix one then it comes in somewhere else. All sorted now.
I sealed my lights and spoiler with one sided super adhesive foam, (different widths and thickness for each) once compressed it creates a water tight seal. I have loads left cos I had to buy large rolls. PM me if you want some and we can sort something out.:thumb::thumb:

Hope you never have to remove your bumper with sealed lights :(

lol its water tight not indistructable! :lol1: lol I hade them off a few months ago when I put sti rears on, they came off easilly enough

I dont get it.... is it coming in from the bottom of the rear lights?

my is only in the spare wheel thingy and on the corner of the boot mats (closest to the rear bumber).

what do i need to buy?... whats this roll thingy?... and how do i go about doing it?...

maybe i should jus go and buy a bubble!

yeah bottom of the lights, if you take one out, youll see that there is a load of black sticky stuff, its what subaru thought would work, lol well it gets hard and then looses its ability to keep water out, remove it all from the light and put new stuff on! bingo!

Thin strip of foam on a 20m roll.:thumb: You'll be surprised how hard it is to trace where the water is coming in. The best way by a mile is getting in the boot and get somebody to hose around the lights, spoiler, rear wings etc.
Have the car facing down hill to aid the water travel. I did it first facing uphill and not a drop to be seen. :thumb:
