arg. adverts making this slow,

Hi,

Certain companies who are supplying your adverts on the thread pages are loading really slowly. Im talking 5-10 seconds for it to finish loading the page so i can see the thread.

It really sucks!

Bin em!

The site was quick at the start for me when the change over was done. Now it drags its arse, it seems to hang while it loads the ads. I have to do a couple of refreshes to get some pages to load now.

Yes.

Adserveplus.com

BIN THOSE ADS! they make the page not load...

It seems each refresh you draw an ad from another ad company/network.

So far 2 have caused me major issues with the page never loading, and so having to refresh to get the add from another place.

TBH the amount of ads on this site is getting a little silly and distracting!

On this page alone there are 4 MASSIVE ads. Even on pages which dont get public view, i.e. posting a new thread their are ads.

You lot really need to revise where when how the ads are displayed and by who!

Some good affiliates allow you to host your own ads, and thus reducing the speed reduction awaiting for a provider.

I think this is something you should look into. Its easy enough to write in your own add management system and stat tracking...im sure there is already a premade one for use with this forum also..?

Or load the page first and the adds second...? From the half loaded page the halt seems to be the one at the top. between the header and the content.. Below the breadcrumb i mean.

...? now there are arguably non work friendly adverts... seriously cut some of the adverts you. there are adverts on adverts under adverts next to adverts!

If im not going to click one im not gonna click seven! more adverts doesnt necessarily = higher ctr. at the risk of alienating users..
