Is 350/350 asking for too much on a classic sti engine?

as above

i know many run them at around 320/330 break, with remap and breathing mods and this is just as reliable as standard.

however is pushing it a lil more than that dangerous? does it reduce realiability?

cheers

No it is not as long as the engine is well maintained. You will however be on the limit of the standard 440cc injectors and pushing the tmic pretty hard.

cheers guys

whats the most you'll push a standard engine too? just looking at scoobys for sale still, and keep thinking to myself hold out for one thats been forged, due to me being addicted to modding..

but i'd be happy for 350 as fast road and amateur trackday car really, as long as its set up well with early spool (kind of like what joz is planning)

things are just going from bad to worse for me though, family wise lol everybody asking for money atm gets me down, i really wanted to be back in scoob this summer.. i.e. next few months , feel like crying lol

Yes mate, i,m a big fan of Tyson, always loved his cave man style of fighting in the 80s, i remember staying up for all his fights, never forget when he knocked Berbick out, still to this day has to be one of the best i,ve seen, just a shame his trainer died because imo he would of gone down undefeated and the best heavy weight ever..:thumb:

Sorry about that mate..:o i,ve been told be a few respectable tuners that the pistons are good for 400ish bhp, now whether you,d want to push that is upto the person, personally i,d give it a miss..:o i,m MORE than happy the way mine performs, the car has done a 12.3 1/4 @ 110 mph and that was when it was 25bhp/30ft/lb less, ok it,d probably not go alot quicker but my point is there,s not too many cars that,ll keep with it in your average cars on the road, except Bannys and a few others off here,..:lol1::lol1:
