Buying in NI?

Hello all.

I am just about to buy my first scoob but was
wondering if anyone knows of any used dealers in
the Antrim/surrounding area?

I have a budget of £2500 tops and am looking
preferably for a UK TURBO 2000 as I can insure
one quite happily.

You could try Murray Cars?
He buys and sells used Impreza's - amoungst other stuff.

Another possibility is Eden Car Sales in Carrick.
He's a fairly decent guy too.

Steer clear of Donnellys whatever you do.

Shaun

Thanks for that mate.

Got a deal on a motor today so no longer
needed but thanks anyway:)

Picking her up on Monday, will post some pics
when she is in my hands.

Thanks again.

Just wondering why you said that. I may be in the market later on this year and was thinking of dropping in there. I've got bits for my classic in there and have to say have never had any problems in fact quite the opposite.

think alot of local fellas have had issues with donnellys.
range from many things such as a lack of willingness to deal on price to just general customer service.
Recently there was a change over to donnelly bros so things maybe different now.
Give Charlie a shout at eden car sales, he's very helpful and also easy to deal with.

Way way back in 2002 when the first official STI's came to the UK I had made my mind up that I wanted one.
I'd already bought 2 new turbo 2000's from Eden at that stage.
Anyway, I rang Donnellys.
Was told they had 1 in the showroom.

Off I went to have a look.
I wanted a test drive, so Paul Donnelly himself took me out down the M1.
I swear, from their showroom to the broadway roundabout had little to no traffic, so what I'm really saying it that the engine was still not warmed up.

But did that stop him raking the shyte out of it from cold until the next junction - no of course it didn't.

I got to drive it back and that was the test drive - I didn't drive it hard.

He as a person was so full of sh1t it was unreal.

They were unwilling to deal on price, knew nothing about the car really apart from
"These are the rolls royce of Japan".

Tried to shaft me on the finance by upping the rate.

I told them i'd go elsewhere and buy the car, and I did.
To Eden cars the very same day.
Agreed a price, got finance from them too which they didn't try and shaft me on.

Donnellys them complained to Subaru UK and kicked up a right old stink.
"We brought that car in especially for him" blah blah.

My advice is steer clear, casuse he's nothing but a shifty whore as far as I'm concerned

so a search - I'm not alone.

I remember a story of some poor guy who if I remember correctly had bought a new car to only find out later that it was a crash repaired new car.
THis only came to light after he spent 6 months trying to get the log book etc.

Go see Eden Cars, ask for Charlie and tell him Shaun Brady sent you.
He's down to earth, bit too laid back, but will deal with you on the price.
And he WILL beat Donnellys price very easily.

FWIW, Paul Donnely the crook is no longer anything to do with Subaru. The business was taken over by Donnely Bros, so Paul is no longer anything to do with it.

So that can only be a good thing for anyone considering buying a Subaru from them.

Thanks for the heads up lads. I got the same kind of treatment up in Coleraine when I was looking at a BMW I walked and will never be back and would advise everybody else the same. Bloody muppets everywhere
