saddest film you've seen
 

following on from 83of300's thread, what is the saddest film you've seen, mine has to be AI (artificial intelligence). such a sad film.

Schindlers List

Watership Down, followed by Bambi

Astro Zombies

Ditto

Also Kramer vs Kramer

Though Marley & Me (just out) is supposed to be worth a box of kleenex.:cry:

11 year old gone to see it from school today so will know by tomorrow!!:)

'Kes' was pretty sad, if you want to be obscure (and it makes me look dead clever, like)...

As a kid, Watership Down, no contest!

As an adult, I'm less sure. I watched Leaving Las Vegas the other day though and found that quite moving! Superb performances.

Schlinders List or the Green Mile - cannot make up my mind

watership down. never been able to watch it as an adult even !

"Of Mice and Men", when the old guy has to shoot his stinky old dog. That's definitely a tear jerker.

Schindlers list made me cry a bit when they had the real people at the end.

I agree with Stara though, I can't actually watch the last 20 minutes or so of AI. Well I can but within a few seconds of the last scene with his mum (welling up now, stupid boy!) I'm a mess.

Flight 93 was upsetting. One thing that did get to me was the Twin Towers film. We watched it at the cinema and before the start there were some kids making noises etc as they do. I've never experienced it before or since a whole audience leaving in silence at the end - my wife and I didn't even talk to each other until we were almost home. We just couldn't.

Powerful stuff.

Bambi - great tale about that film. My friend who was, by his own admission, a bit of a lad in his day (grew up on a rough council estate and spent a lot of his youth carving a deserved hard man image until later in life he calmed down realising a good job and a loving family was better than fighting in the pubs and on the terraces every week) took his two very young daughters to see Bambi at a cinema matinee kids club.

He knew he was completely immersed in the film when his eldest daughter tugged at his arm and nervously asked what had happened to Bambi's mum. My mate stood up and with tears streaming down his face pointed at the screen and yelled 'that b**tard shot her' before realising where he was and sitting down again very quickly with the whole cinema staring at him :D :D

He has never lived it down, but likes to tell the story against himself much to his daughter's (now late teens) dismay :D

Philadelphia or Schindlers List

I took my little daughter to see The Water Horse movie.
She sobbed uncontrollably at the end - I must admit it brought a tear to my eye also - stupid boy! - grown men don't cry do they?.

"Ten things I hate about you".
At the end when Cat is so upset in class as she reads her sonnet.

Watership Down? The only sad bit is when Hazel dies at the end, and even then, he's going with nthe black rabbit to rabbit heaven...........

Watership down definately but I watched Marley and Me the other night and I had to walk out of the room nearer the end. Had me thinking back to when I had to have my dog put down and I was really welling up.

Green Mile was sad the first time I watched it.

My brother had to be taken out of the cinema when Bambi's mum died because he was crying so much (and no, he wasn't 32 at the time! :p)

Definitely some sad bits in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest'...
