Fitted new Radiator. overheating quickly??

Just fitted an Alu radiator to my Classic Turbo. Its quickly getting too hot when driving very short distance. Don't know what i have done wrong. Never done the radiator before on a scoob and no radiator cap in it. So i filled it back up from the reservoir was this wrong?. The Rad is an ebay special. So there is a chance its a pile of cack.

Any pointers or ideas would be grand : )

hi your really meant to fill it through the header tank slowly as to try and get the least amount of air in the system it could be theres not enough water the car will only take water from the reservoir that it needs and push the rest out ie when driving it will be at the full line and when cold should be between the min and max level make sure there is water in the header tank and hopefully you wont have damaged the head gasket.

Ah...Hopefully that is it then. What an idiot i am. I wasn't sure to do that or not. Well i know now. Ill maybe empty it all out and start again. Cause it's probably full of air.
Really appreciate your help man thanks.

On an off topic. Where you sitting in the shell garage at the Scott Fyffe roundabout in Dundee bout a week ago? if so very nice legacy.
