T point for boost gauge (Turbo 200)

Been helping my mate fit his boost gauge today on his 00 Turbo 2000, read multiple sites before fitting about being safe to tap into any point that leads back to the manifold etc, anyway....

Located the T in the position below next to his HKS d/v, we finish installation and take the car for a quick spin and get readings in second of 12 psi and roughly 18 in third! Shocked

Now he has only had this car a week and other than a shed full of recipts anddoesnt no if its been remapped etc - Have i located the T piece in the wrong place to give these readings (given that my 95 wrx boosts at about 7 psi)

If not then i also noticed what looked like a PRV on the left hand side of the engine, could it be that the boost has just been wound up?

Cheers

well 7 psi is 0.5 bar and 12 is 0.8bar and 18 is 1.2bar hope this helps.

ok cheers,

So if its reading 18 psi (1.2 bar) then i would assume its been remapped?

Mods currently include uprated intercooler (see pic), panel filter, and a HKS dv

My mate is just worried it was reading too high
