Best Driving Game For PS3?

As above.

Does it include "The Ring"?

TY

HankScorpio 07 March 2009 01:33 PM

Best racing game - Burnout Paradise.
Doesn't have ring.

Best track racing game - GRID, no ring.

ScoobyJawa 07 March 2009 03:30 PM

I hated GRID, Forza was much better :(

forza on ps3?

Neanderthal 07 March 2009 07:41 PM

Doesn't GT4.5897473472372771772111 Prologue have The Ring in it?

Normski 07 March 2009 07:48 PM

No, but there was a version of GT5 prologue on the Sony stands at the Nurburgring 24Hrs that had the track. So it may be added some time.

Granby 07 March 2009 07:54 PM

Race Driver Grid is good especially the drifting :) & GT5 Prologue but no ring

The drifting is ace but I wish I had somewhere to hook up my wheel, I reckon it would be even better with it.

There isn't one, for about £130 you can get a 360 and a copy of Forza 2.

Not an MS Fanboy, have both machines, there just isnt a decent racer on the PS3 yet, Grid is ok, the Burnout series is ok, Colin McRae Dirt is ok, Motorstorm is ok, F1 is ok, but there is nothing with the depth of Forza 2, sad state of affairs this far in.

Jamz3k 08 March 2009 03:45 PM

Agree with Jacko! Plus least u can actually control the cars with a degree of decentness from the Xbox360 controller.

Sclarke 08 March 2009 05:24 PM

Another vote for Grid here. My favourite PS3 driving game so far.

Nope - but just comparing the 2 as games, GRID was pants next to Forza :(

Not really the same thing though were they. Forza is a driving "sim" whereas Grid was essentially an arcade game. Both had good and bad points. I enjoyed Grid for what it was... :)

Not found a PS3 driving game that has impressed me yet. F1 is reasonably enjoyable, (as is Grid and burnout), but I don't think these are quite what the OP was asking for.

ScoobyJawa 09 March 2009 01:18 PM

Yeah thats true enough Iain, and probably thats why I didn't like it so much, prefer the sims to arcade style stuff like NFS etc...

ian_sadler 09 March 2009 01:31 PM

mmm so not a great range of games yet then :(

Thanks anyway :)

Hi ScoobyJawa long time no chat :D

J4CKO 09 March 2009 01:51 PM

There is no game on the PS3 where you can change your clutch and fiddle with damper settings, you know all the geeky stuff we love !

ian_sadler 09 March 2009 02:58 PM

lol

ScoobyJawa 10 March 2009 02:52 PM

Hiya Ian! Sure is mate, hows things?! Oh, and just get a 360 as well ;) :D

messiah 10 March 2009 03:43 PM

I'm in the minority that thinks Grid was cack.

Decent racers on the PS3 are in short supply - Burnout Paradise would be my pick.

Iain Young 10 March 2009 04:40 PM

Trouble is that people are thinlking that Grid was a "sim". It was in reality nothing more than an arcade game, and if you treat it as such, I thought it was quite good :)

ScooByer Trade 10 March 2009 05:03 PM

I enjoyed Motorstorm PR, Prologue and NFS undercover. The thing with undercover is you can't catch crims like in NFS Hot Pursuit because that is not part the storyline in the game. The idea of Hot Pursuit is a bunch of different roads/tracks with changeable weather, 4 classes of cars s a b & c and you could drive the cop cars too.You didn't adere to a storyline and the storyline is slow in undercover.I thought the replacement NFS after HP was more of an upgrade, so why not do that same idea for the PS3 ?. So far i have enjoyed Motorstorm PR the most.Sorry a little off topic there carry on.

HankScorpio 10 March 2009 05:10 PM

NFS HP on PC is my favourite of all time, I had two PC's with wheels and would have mates round for games. Nothing has come close since but I'm hoping Burnout Cops and Robbers pack will be on the right track.

ScooByer Trade 10 March 2009 05:30 PM

I have got that for the pc HankS it's brilliant, the only game i like more is GPL with a steering wheel & pedals.

HankScorpio 10 March 2009 05:40 PM

Spike strips rule :D

ian_sadler 10 March 2009 06:41 PM

Oi off topic lol ;)

I'm assuming the ps3/360 play the same, i enjoyed the Grid, as Iain says treat it as an arcade racer, and based on the facts that you could pick it up for £25-£30 on release it was fun.

ian_sadler 13 March 2009 12:59 PM

mmm so it looks like I'll to wait for some one to develop a new game then :(

Played Grid on the 360 - I liked the inclusion of the Le Sarthe track but the online penalty / damage system is worse than GT5P's. Can't comment on how the PS3 version plays - but the 360's was enough for me to not want to try it.

BP on the other hand - is a great game on both consoles, I think the PS3 has the slight graphical edge, but you're going to fast to notice it most of the time, and the 360 version was by no means "a bad looker". BP was my fave game of 2008, adding Trophies to the PS3 was enough to make me want to play it again though.

Iain Young 17 March 2009 01:17 PM

Hmmm, must give BP another go. Played it for a couple of days, got bored with it and haven't tried it again since. They have made a lot of impovements / changes since then though, so it might be worth giving it another go...
