Ford APR 7.9%!!

Just been to a local Ford dealer looking at a new ST Focus and the best APR they can do is 7.9%.Keen to deal they say :lol1:,they want £380/mth for a ST2 but I wont pay anymore than £300 will they buckle??

zip106 06 March 2009 06:38 PM

Will they buckle? They bloody well should do - that's way too high.

I've been quoted an APR of 5.6% on a used car with a 50% deposit (that's NOT the flat rate, that's the actual APR) with Lombard (that's Lombard Finance Assets, not to be confused with Lombard Direct ;) ).

If I were you I'd get your finance elsewhere.

Doubt it , thats actually not a bad rate at the moment.
Most banks are charging upwards of 8% for loans if they're lending at all.
Depends how much you're borrowing but to drop £80 a month in interest will be huge drop in the %. Can't see how they can manage that?

Is ownership important? You can lease one for much less...

Ford ST Lease

I am also using them for a car with a 50% deposit - spooky ;)

The wife currently has a 2.0L TDCI Focus on Ford Options and she was looking to change to a ST2 which would be on Options again. At the minute Ford are offering £1000 if you have a Focus and change to the new model,so ownership isnt important as she dosent/wont own the car anyway.

rb5_336 06 March 2009 09:12 PM

Get a merc at 5.8% APR. I'm tempted

RJM25R 06 March 2009 09:46 PM

£80 a month reduction over, say, 3 years is £80x36, £2880.

You're dreaming mate.

Rorschach 06 March 2009 09:51 PM

darn the lot lowa 4 cash

RyanSTI 08 March 2009 09:29 AM

totally

Simon C 13 March 2009 11:16 AM

Audi is 11.4%!

austinwrx 13 March 2009 01:44 PM

given no one can sell a car

zero percent ????

why would anyone ever commit to 6/7 or 8% on a loan ????

cash is king- it always will be.

Terminator X 13 March 2009 08:24 PM

I wouldn't / won't bother getting a loan until these fools start lowering the loan rates ... 0.5% BoE interest rate & these highway robbers want to charge us almost 20x that

TX.

RyanSTI 13 March 2009 11:49 PM

until the inter bank lending rate drops, this will affect the finance companys, erm Audi have 1% on some models. however all these car companys that advertise 0% all there doing is taking it out of the margin of the car already.

father in law just got a new fiesta over 2 years 4.9% apr, the dealer said that they have never been so busy, they cant get hold of enough fiestas at the moment.

Also the RS focus now has a 6 month waiting list, there is 10500 currently on order, he reckons hardly anyone is buying a standard one so there averaging 27500k

10500 x 27500 = £288,750000

Credit crunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what fooking credit crunch:lol1:
