I think I can answer that one. In vB (the forum software), each usergroup has a "Username HTML Markup" option. This allows you to specify and opening and closing HTML tag, for example you could enter:

Code:

<font color="#FF4400"> in the first field and </font> in the second field
This will then change the font color of the username for that group. The above code would turn the user's name an orange color.

If you don't add a tag, then the username style will default to whatever is set in the style template.

From what I can see, the template's default is to use the large black name we see.

Normal users are a member of just one group, "Registered Users", however, for example, Orange Members are in two groups (have a look here to see what groups you have), "Registered Users" and "Full Member +" (I'm actually in three groups, the two previously mentioned and also "Long Standing Member")

You can change which group you will be indentified by, and this is where the confusion over why some Blue/Orange/Plus members do not display the small orange/blue name. If I have the "Identify me as a member of this group" set to "Registered Users" or "Long Standing Member" then it will still display the little Full Member Orange Club banner thing, however, I will NOT get the small orange text, as the group I selected doesn't have anything set in the aforementioned "Username HTML Markup" option.
If I set it to identify me as a member of the "Full Member +" group, then I get the small orange username.

Bottom line, check your group settings and select the Orange/Blue club member one and you'll then see your name in the correct size and color.
