Land registry fee???

These is charged in accordance with the purchase price I understand, but does anyone know what the cost would be if a property is to be "gifted" to someone... If it applies at all?

Cheers.

No a land registry fee, to change the names for who owns the property.

If the property is being gifted then on the AP1 form (you send that to Land Registry with the Transfer (TR1) you are meant to put in the value of the property and pay the fee according the scale below.

The fee should then be payable at Scale II which is as follows

Value of property : £0 - £100,000 - £40.00
£100,001- £200,000 - £50.00
£200,001 -£500,000 - £70.00
£500,001 -£1 million - £100.00
£1million + £200.00

Sometimes if you just send in £40,00 regardless of value of the property you'll get away with it.

Hope this helps,

Chris
