ninja fitted! :)

had my ninja downpipe and backbox fitted today.......

WOW! its made a BIG difference, so much more responsive.
4000 revs plus justs seems like lightning!
and sounds fantastic even pops at rev limit :D

question is should i now get a remap?, dont wanna push the engine to much but its one of them things i just have to do from time to time.

thoughts on a remap vs engine life?

:wonder:

The remap will get the most out of your downpipe

i am worried that the engine/turbo will go tits up, done 122k

wrighty338 25 February 2009 10:51 PM

at 122k id be more worried about my bottom end going

scoobmj 25 February 2009 10:56 PM

seems to be ok up to now, with regular services etc. although is a bit knocky (or more tappy) when cold, but i have remote start so 9/10 times the car is warmed up before its driven.
and once it is warm theres no tapping

Is that the ninja sports cat d/p ??

if so,worth fitting ?

scoobmj 25 February 2009 11:44 PM

yeah fast flow cat, i would recommend :thumb:

you can hear the flow is so much betters and the increase in performance is very much noticeable.

according the the manufacturers the difference between fast flow pipe and decat pipe is minimal

C_RHYS 25 February 2009 11:48 PM

sounds like the bottom end is on its way out already mate from what you just said about cold tapping. Sorry if i'm wrong

The Rig 25 February 2009 11:49 PM

cool.
ive been told from a good source a z4 ECU can cope with a decat pipe fitted if everything else is standard,ie airbox injectors etc so fitting the sports cat and a backbox fitted to an otherwise standard engine should be fine,if you use optimax fuel
