Do this 06 Spec D seem dodgey to anyone else???

2006 SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI-SPEC D GREY on eBay, also, Subaru, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 03-Mar-09 22:31:58 GMT)

Look too cheap to me and the blokes figure (plus no feedback score) don't add up hear.

BHP 430
Price - £3500 less than it should be

brocksta 25 February 2009 06:11 PM

i think it would need a front mount to make that sort of power and it aint got one. also 430 bhp would see 0-60 times in about 4secs not 5 and would need quite alot of extra mods including a new turbo which he hasent mention plus just the one picture i would steer clear of it chap.he even says it got a tow bar!!!!!

Melly 25 February 2009 06:16 PM

Hmmm 430 bhp in standard pistons is not a great idea on the 2.5 either. Give him a pm and ask for a full spec on the engine and transmission.

Cheers
Melly

Way too cheap even in current market.... thought spec D had low spoiler?

Norman Dog 25 February 2009 06:53 PM

Arfan Malik?? Sounds like a Serbian war criminal to me :D

Mikkel 25 February 2009 07:06 PM

Car itself looks ok. Standard besides the spoiler and the lip spoiler.

I would want to know what mods are for 430 bhp. If you go over 400 bhp on a 2.5 you do need some serious supporting mods. Anything below 400 bhp is easily achievable and relatively cheap.

Is too cheap mind, which means he is desperate to sell or it is a wrong un. There was one on the trader recently for £10k but that was cat d repaired. Standard ones go for £13k easily and a one modified to be running 430 bhp could easily fetch more from the right buyer.

C_RHYS 25 February 2009 08:43 PM

I thought it looked way too cheap. He even says in the write up that they sell for 13.5k.
I mailed him last night asking details but I haven't heard anything. It's too far for me to go. Just wanted to see what other ppl thought.

jono300 25 February 2009 09:14 PM

AS the reg plate is clearly visable in the picture it could be worth a check on the HPI if anyone has free access ??!! hotel car park as opposed to outside his front door, no feedback , etc etc etc, sorry but sounds fishy to me !!!

I suppose even an PI check might not even receall anything untwaords as scammers have been known just to use photos taken from the net etc so it could be a legit car but a dodgy seller ??!!

Trap2Terrorist 25 February 2009 10:19 PM

I agree it seems cheap but IIRC I saw one go for less than that recently, Hawkeye Spec D with same sort of mileage. :wonder:

That will be the cat d repaired one I was talking about. IIRC it also had high mileage.

C_RHYS 25 February 2009 10:35 PM

Saw a cat d one on piston heads that sold for around 8 but don't know about the milage.

C_RHYS 25 February 2009 11:24 PM

Subaru : subaru impreza wrx sti spec d

The car on ebay is that same one that sold here on Piston Heads a few weeks ago.

Lol, engine bay is a disgrace too ! nice splitter though:lol1:

v8voodoo 26 February 2009 01:43 AM

Hmm...

What's with those drip rail things? I thought they were fitted to mainly Jap spec cars?

I would be treading very carefully with that car. If something seems to good to be true, then it usually is.

urabusMY94 26 February 2009 01:41 PM

Quote from PistonHeads ad:

"06 plate 2.5cc 28k miles 276 bhp 6 spd crystal metallic grey, i/c water spray full black leather interior, abs,a/c, climate control,4wd, diff adjustment, thatchem alarm and imobilizer, smart nav, brembo brakes, xenon headlights, fssh, looks and drives superb, sadly its recorded on cat d repaired, i took it in px so dont know much bout it."

Since then:
- No longer a Cat D
- it has gained 150bhp
- and the mileage is 1k less…..

Steve001 27 February 2009 01:00 PM

too cheap, i picked one up on wednesday MY06 with PPP and subaru 1 year warranty for £12.600 and i thought i had got a bargain :D
