opinions please
thought i would put it in here for maximum exposure.
i had a set of AP 6 pots which were removed form the car by the previous owner and given to me in the sale. i was offered good money for them so sold them as i had no intention of modding the car but now plans have changed i will need to uprate the brakes. i have been offered a set of PRODRIVE ALCONS? how good are these? or woul dit be better to fit a set of Newage BREMBO'S instead? obviously i would like another set of AP but i do not want to be paying £1600 for them new so just looking at alternatives. has anyone tried both or have had or have either of the above and can give an honest opinion which is better? alternative is a group buy on for a set ok K SPORTS or D2'S if anyone has used them it would be nice to get a view on them to. just these wil be new at £800 and i thought i maybe abe to get front and rears done for that with the alcon or brembo. what would you go for and any opinions are welcome regards |
PRODRIVE ALCONS are great!!!
Had these on my last car and did a track day with a mate who has been doing track days for years, he kept on going on about haw good the prodrives were all day! Godspeed do new disc for the kit to what i had. Thing is i have the ksport 8 ports on my new car now and they are just as good to! I would say go for the one's that will cost you the least? Ash P.s. you know the Alcons were a £1500 option from Prodrive!!! |
£1500 no i did not mate
which do you prefer as i was looking at both or the brembo so if you can give me an opinion on the two that would be great they as good as eachother or does one have the egde? cheers |
I have not tried the brembo so could not say but Alcon is a better company when it comes to brakes.
If you go over to the MLR all the big boys use them and my tunner swears by them. (The alcons that is) |
cool thanks for your help mate, what do you thikn is a fair price for a set of fronts then secondhand obvioulsy
regards |
If the set is good (disc and clappers) £500
This is what i sold my set for when i broke my old car down and sold for parts. I would not pay more then that:thumb: |
and if the disks were needing replacing how much woul you knock off
|
£200
But the disks are about £450 new from godspeed and £600 from Prodrive:norty: |
