MY03 alarm/immobiliser problem :-(

went to go driving(MY03 wrx) this morning, BUT the car wont start. tried arming then disarming the alarm tried again and nothing. then i had the key in the ignition to stage 2(all lights on) pressed the key fob to de-activate the alarm/immobiliser and still nothing.

something that is easily solved or a big pain in the ar$e??

thanks
steve

Dont you just key in the 4 digit code into the alarm "control box" for want of a better description that is located in the glove box?

I have a bugeye and had a classic before that and thats what was required on those models.

Hope that helps,
Regards
Rick

ive tried the pin code but nothing happens. the booklet that comes with the car doesnt help too much either, just says prob a flat battery. tried connecting a booster to the battery and made no difference.

was working fine yesterday!!

oh, dont like the keypad cos it doesnt feel as rthopugh you've pressed the buttons. i see the light flash but dont know if it worked. as i dont know if its meant to flash so many times etc. and whether the key should or should be inm the ignition

mite sound silly but is the car battery flat? they can suddenly go on you.

Sounds like the battery is knackered. Once it drops below a certain level of charge the alarm will go mental. Its very annoying but very common. Good battery replacement is this. It sorted my car out.

MIght sound like a silly question, but where did you find the key pad to enter the pin number. Have looked under the driver's console and in glovebox but can't see it!!! thanks
