steam/ smoke from front
 

just been for a 10 min drive and when i get back ive got either steam or smoke coming from i think between the slam panal and rad, it doesnt happen everytime so im thinking its either water getting on the manifold or a small leak from the oil cooler or rad, but theres no signs of anything leaking onto the floor? any ideas?

The radiators can crack at the ends where it's plastic (on the classic shaped imprezas not sure about newage) , i had mine go a few years ago (drivers side) and it was just wisps of steam.

Like you say if its at the front then i would say its the rad leaking. should be very easy to spot where its coming from as leave the anti-freeze will stain around the area its leaking.

Dont forget to top water/af before you go out in it as it might be getting on the low side.

If it was a cold and damp/wet day its proberly where your rad has got wet and hot and its just steam coming of it in the cold weather, happened to me tha other day when i was sitting in the car waiting for the wife
