(Jen on Chris' computer)

Hope you all had a good day :D

My first "live" rally and really enjoyed all the stages (esp. the 3 forest ones I got too...still amazed they get 'round those corners :) ) If anyone saw me I was doing a pretty good impresion of a drowned rat by stage 5 :D Still smilin' though...

Scott T - saw you (2 scoobs and the volvo!) coming into car park D at "Mt Ararat 2" and turning pretty sharpish :D (Was that a hand brake turn in the Volvo I saw?! ;) ) ..we were eating chocolate in the right hand MY98 silver scoob :D I assume you were heading to Somerley as we saw the cars there later...hope you had a great day... :)

Dyney - were you sitting by a roundabout?! (A35 near the turn to Verwood)

Jen (and Chris)

bennetm 23 February 2002 06:40 PM

I gave you a wave!

White MY96 Big wing and gold 18's sti fog covers...

Dyney 23 February 2002 07:42 PM

Yes, I was there though it was the A31/A338 Roundabout.

Did I look really PI$$ED OFF!!!
Drove all the way down and then broke down!!
Didn't even get to see any of the stages, though I did see all the competitors as they passed heading into Bournemouth.
Thoughts so far are that its a tappet or Cam follower:(

Who was the Blue Evo doing curcuits of the roundabout with the video camera:D

Atleast I've been spotted now:) Who else saw me?

Iain.

(Jen using Chris' computer)

Dyney - Oops! If I'd have realised I would have tried to help!! (not that I'm technical, but I could have commiserated) Did you manage to get it sorted? Hope it's not going to be really expensive :(

MB - hope I waved back :D waved to SOoooooooooooooooooo many people today can't remember them all :) Well, appart from Dyney who I didn't wave to but almost drove in front of several vehicles trying to see if it was a scoob and what he was doing at the roundabout! Oh, and Scott T, but then he was hard to miss in a convoy doing handbrake turns in the mud ;)

Favourite stages? I thought in the town was surreal, hence excellent and the hairpins in the forest were brilliant, but Mt Ararat has to be the best for me :D :D

Jen (just about dryed off and warmed up ;) ) and Scoob (with stylish rally mud  )

Dyney 23 February 2002 09:23 PM

I hope it won't be too expensive aswell:(
I was in a 3 car convoy, So did have some help, but as soon as I knew the AA were on the way I sent them off to the rally (no point in it spoiling everyones day).

Thanks to Tim and the AA I got home safe and sound, the car didn't even get dirty and I saved a fortune on fuel and tyres on the return journey:D
Thanks also to Dr.Evil for the support, hope you had a good day anyway.

Hi Chris,

Yep that was me... we were all trying to find our way out of the car park via a route other than the way in, as there were lots of cars coming in for the next run.

I thought I'd try and power it round in the mud, but then decided better of it as there wasn't much room. Did the Volvo manage a handbrake turn then... not something you expect from a Volvo driver.

We did manage to find a way out, although was a bit worried we may end up on the Special Stage especially when we passed the time control boards !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somerley was OK, but was a typical 'spectator' stage with too many restriction and too many marshall.
Some of which would of been better placed on the Mount Ararat stage. As we felt rather exposed at times walking along the track with a crest in the road and no Marshall to warn of the approaching cars.....

Chris_S199 24 February 2002 07:48 PM

(Jen using Chris' computer..)

lol at Scott! Glad you didn't end up on the stage, that could've been interesting :D

I agree about the Somerley stage - a little refined :) We had a great time wandering around randomly until we found an interesting part of the track, although the marshall's we very helpful when we did find a few :)

Had a great day, just waiting for the photo's to be developed - what would I give for a digital camera?! ;)

Dyney did have his name in the window, that's how I knew it was him! Must get one of those :D

DrEvil 24 February 2002 09:26 PM

Dyney - hope you get it sorted soon mate :(

Saw loads of scoobs, UK300s, P1s, '01 WRXs, '00 UKs, STi's, WRX's.. loads!

I was in the WR Blue '01 WRX with MG grill ;) and STi fog covers.
Was parked next to Dyney for a while on the roundabout :( with Gary in his DGM '98 UK Turbo.

Met someone called Martin in a WR Blue '01 WRX with big wing and gold wheels in the car park at the Trade & Service area at the Airport...

Forgot to ask!

Dyney - where'd you get the sticker in your back window done? I've seen a few with them and would quite like one :D

Jen

bennetm 26 February 2002 11:06 AM

Boultsy,

Probably was me, didn't see many white ones at all! Although mine is now a shade of brown...

MB

Dyney 26 February 2002 06:35 PM

Jen,
Sticker supplied by Salsa-king. It does make spoting easier:D.

Well the garage say one of the inlet valves in #2 is bent:(
So I'm having both #2 inlet valves & springs replaced along with the cam belt as a precaution. They reckon they can have it done by the weekend.:)
