Do things get much worse

Not been a particulary good start to the new year (yet again)

But upto now the following has happened

Stupid woman crashed into my scoob, 3 grands worth of damage

Cat was shot in the face deliberatly

My Dad is still recovering from what was supposed to be a routine op with one week in hospital (last August)

I had to sack my friend from work

My Nephew's best friend from school has just died (15 years old)

My next door neighbour died last week (her husband probably wont last much longer)

Plane crash in my Aunty's home town (all passengers & crew dead)

Plane crash whilst we were in New York (1/2 mile from our hotel, thankfully everyone survived)

Friend from previous job is in hospital trapped inside his own body, only able to move his eyes (major blood clot on the brain)

Friend from works old friend from school been given days to live

One of our important customers on long term sick diagnosed with Cancer

the Missus diagnosed with Meniers Disease

It isnt all doom and gloom though, the following good things have happened

My Cousin gave birth to a baby girl (her hubby had to deliver though, no time to get to hospital :))

We just won some very important contracts and work at work securing our future

Cat is recovering far better than Vets expected

Scoob isnt written off and is currently being repaired

Went to New York and had a great time

Baby took his first steps unaided (although he still looks like Darth Vader from Revenge of the Sith when he first gets his suit :lol1:)

LOL

I know Jamie, just always seems to happen around this time of year

Dont get me wrong, despite all of the above, there are good things that have happened, and overall I am generally quite content as things are going well in general

I am happy at home and work, so things arent too bad :thumb:

Yep, thats why it pays to never get too smug or too maudlin, things can quickly get worse and sometimes even improve !

Janspeed 14 February 2009 01:48 PM

Sod's law is what it is.It's like when you have a bit of money saved and all of a sudden, something major will go wrong on the car or what not and your back to square one again. Now i know i said i wouldn't ever part with the scoob, but im getting sick of the problems im having with it since the start of this year. ive just been down too the skoda dealership just to see what's on offer, and seen some good bargains on 57/58 plate octavia's..The good thing is that i got GF some flowers and she said to me,if you hadn't of bought me these i had forgotten all about Valentines day :Suspiciou ..Great i said just forget again and that's another headache off my mind.:D Trivial problems though really compared to what other people are going through..

Well if you think about it, most of those things did not even happen to you, so it is less bad.........................:wonder:

I know, which is probably why I am not feeling down about things :)

It is just surprising on how much has happened to me and those around me, either directly or indirectly in the last couple of weeks

More good news, found out this afternoon finally that my Aunty wasn't at home in Buffalo, but away in Florida :thumb:

It's funny- when a certain level of **** lands on your plate, it reaches overload, and any more makes no difference at all! In fact, you're expecting it, and are surprised if it isn't that bad! 2008 was like that for me, and , now, I'm enjoying life more than ever before. Nothing really matters anymore!

You have certainly made me feel better,so thanks for that !!!!!:thumb:
