EPIC Valentine's FAIL!!

Guy at work proudly just came round the office to show us the "cheap" Valentine's card he just got his girlfriend...

Unfortunatly when one of the other guys flipped the card over to read the slip of paper that tells you what it written on the inside.....

It makes reference to "my wonderful husband" :lol1:

So now he is pondering what he can to do alter the card, to save him buying a new one.

Moral of the story...... DONT be cheap, and learn to read.

His face was......PRICELESS :D

davyboy 13 February 2009 12:54 PM

He's not as much as a loser as someone who is spending loads in this mock dispay of love.

fatherpierre 13 February 2009 12:57 PM

Fook....

It's tomorrow isn't it?!

I'm in large trouble unless somewhere can squeeze us in for tomorrow....

She reminded me last week, but I forgot.

Local chippy? Harvester ? lol

Who has used moonpig for a card this year?

fatherpierre 13 February 2009 01:04 PM

Best Kebab or similar.

Credit crunch might be my saviour.

Sounds like a plan to me. Push the boat out with a mixed shish, rather than a lamb doner, and she will love you for years to come, especially if you let her nick some of your chips :D

Matteeboy 13 February 2009 01:15 PM

Good old Moonpig sorted me out.

Wife and I have a tradition of getting takeaway fish and chips on Valentines Day to mock it's pointlessness.

I could try that line of attack.....

Na, she wouldn't buy it and I'd have a few weeks in a bad place as per 2004 when I last forgot.

Snazy 13 February 2009 01:21 PM

lol @ as per 2004 :D
Serious stuff then eh!

Mattee, if I ever bother with occasions Moonpig is the only way. That personal touch adds sincerity to it I find.

Perfer to make loving gestures randomly, rather than on an instructed day.

m&s dine in for 2. 3 course meal, bottle of cava and something else not sure what. all for £20. ok you have to cook it but how much more impressive is that. you can say that you wanted to be more romantic, blah, blah, blah. get's you off the hook nicely. :lol1:

EddScott 13 February 2009 02:30 PM

Its a complete con I agree but what woman do you know that when presented with some flowers, a card, a cuddly toy and a nice meal will turn round and say

"What a *ucking waste of money, take it all back and cancel the booking!"

They may agree with the fella that its all a blag but they love it really.

oldsplice 13 February 2009 02:31 PM

We don't do Valentine's day either. It's all bollox. :smug:

Me and wifey don't bother wasting money on Valentines tat.

Cheers for the offer, but managed to sort somewhere locally.

Took me long enough to find somewhere that's not fully booked.

I agree re it being a waste of money, but she's into it and I'm in the bad books anyway, so failing on this would be silly ;)

davyboy 13 February 2009 04:04 PM

I hope she puts out!

Let's hope she doesn't have man flu then eh? :lol1:

rr_ww 13 February 2009 04:24 PM

Friend of mine just text me to ask if I wanted to go for a drink tomorrow night! :Suspiciou

I said to HIM that, I probably would pass, explaining that every drinking establishment was having a couples night. He said he understood and that he wouldn't be "doing" Valentines Day this year as his GF is hundreds of miles away.

He's a nice person and all, but I do not want to be inside him!
