Is this a good mobile phone contract?
Its on 3 network
INQ1 phone which although I've never heard of looks quite good. 4000 texts 500 mins unlimited data £30.00/month Now he's connecting the phone, via a supplied cable, to his PC at home and using it as a dongle. He reckons the speed is as good as any broadband he has had before and it’s all inclusive. The sales guy in the shop said they couldn't believe the deal when it came out. It has internet access and facebook and the phone connects instantly. Seems a bargain for £30.00/month (including £5 for the Internet Max Add On unlimited internet). He had a 3 mobile dongle prior to this and racked up a £70.00 bill in a week. What do you reckon? Edited: to add the link |
Most mobile contracts stop you using the mobile phone as a connection for a laptop and will charge you. Check the T&Cs very carefully.

Like steve says, it will be limited in the T&C's.
Rest of the contract is pretty average. Using the internet on the phone unlimited however is a totally different matter. My BB is on an unlimited tariff |
I wouldn't go back to the 3 network if they gave me unlimited everything, a free phone and a boat.

I get 700 mins unlimited texts and internet £30 monthly T Mobile G1
|
Ive added a link to the 3 site now.
I thought there would be a catch in the T&C but this is taken from the above linked page: Seriously social? Exclusive to 3. INQ1 gives you Facebook® on your mobile like never before. I just thought the unlimited internet was worth £30.00. Funnily enough he had just odered a new BT line just so he could get broadband but cancelled it after getting this new mobile contract. The other thing is that its really fast internet on the phone as well, loads faster than my C905 on orange.

3 network.......spawn of the devil. 500 mins is fcuk all use if you can't get a signal. i went back to O2 as the 3 coverage in NI was crap.
|
Yeah stay away from 3 they they are awful, They messed me about and i reported them to Ofcom! Id never go near them again.. Orange offer me a good deal so iam staying with them
|
I used to use T-mobile web'n'walk with my laptop, using my Nokia E51 as a modem. It worked perfectly. Unfortunately I can't get T-mobile signal in my new house, so moved to O2.

They bare face lied to my missus cos she is polish and they thought she wouldnt understand what was being explained to her, but her english is better than mine, she just kept quiet and let them carry on with the bull****, then came back with me in tow, it was a totally different situation then. I complained to the customer services, and they didnt want to know. The best thing you can do with companies like 3 and phones 4 u is not give them any business at all, as they both like their penalty charges, where as my mobile company (t mobile) have never charged me once for paying late, 3 wanted 30 quid and chavvy phones 4 u wanted 35 plus 10 quid admin fee, and they both want direct debit only accounts, whereas i pay t mobile every month with my visa, cos they cocked up a direct debit once and took 350 from my account.:Suspiciou |
I understand all the criticism of 3 but, he's been with 3 for a couple of years and reckons the signal is vastly improved.
You could get this phone on a £15.00 contract; pay £5.00 for the 'Internet Max Add-on’ and get unlimited internet usage. Isn't this a better option than any of the mobile dongles you can buy that are limited to a few gig of downloads, plus you also have a phone, which when I tried, it connected to youtube, facebook etc just as fast as an Iphone. Like I said before he did use a 3 dongle and racked up a £70.00 in a few days. I just thought that any truckers or reps who like to stop off at the M/way services and catch up on SNET on their lappy might think it’s worth a punt. Are there many phones that can be used as modem like this and get unlimited internet for an extra £5.00. I have a SE C905, could that? |
For 800 mins + unlimited texts + 30G data, I'm paying £29.36 per month with the new vat rate.
|
Sorry if I'm being a bit dim here :D
Can you connect your phone to your computer/laptop and use it as a dongle? |
get yourself a blackberry, thats what we all should be using
