Your box code shows up as from a MY99 UK turbo as for the other box you have bought are you sure its ty754 and not 752?

scoobydoo_86blue 30 January 2009 03:57 PM

752 mate

AndyP's_P1 30 January 2009 04:16 PM

Yeah thats what i thought. The 752 boxes are not as strong as the 754, the 752 has 4 points of fixing to the engine where as the 754 has 8 points. Ratios and final drive are the same so id assume the box would fit.

NO they're not Firstly, 752 is old technology and is wrong for your 99 car.

You cannot mix VB and VN gearboxes. VB is a JDM box VN is a UK box.

We keep 754 VN1AA off the shelf as a recon unit exchange Call me if I can help.

it will fit as i have done it and works fine i put a 99 gearbox on my 94 wrx all good m8

You need to clarify that comment. YES a 99 UK box will fit a 94 UK car, straight in no messing BUT a 99 UK box won't fit a WRX [ JDM car ] without changing the rear diff too, and probably one half shaft.

It is unlikely that a 99 JDM box will fit a 94 JDM car as there are too many ratio options. It WILL physically fit in the car, but probably won't match the rear diff.

Fit a mismatched front diff / rear diff combination and you'll just break the centre diff and have a 2wd car....................
