Stupid tw*t has hit my scoob

Gutted as in 7 years of owning it, nothing has ever happened to it

Better not be written off now

Cant drive it either due to the rear arch being so close to the tyre

A stupid woman didnt see me and decided to just drive into me, she got out of the car in tears, with barely a mark on her car (a cr@p fiesta style 07 plate)

NotoriousREV 29 January 2009 08:34 PM

How the fook could she not see a fully stickered scoob? Gutted for you Steve :(

b19man 29 January 2009 08:37 PM

you wana hope they write it off cause then you can buy it back for buttons and repair it and have money left over :thumb:
but as for the women take her license off i say

cossie-nutter 29 January 2009 08:38 PM

No mate that can be sorted But depends how fussy your insurance company is and what the car is worth etc... IMHO that's about £900 worth of damage in the real world!

Sonic' 29 January 2009 08:38 PM

She muttered something about she thought I might have waited for her

said it was a road she drives down every day, and has never had an accident in all her life

Obviously familiarity caused her to not pay attention to the road

Keith Michaels insurance :thumb:

I would have thought at minimum new door and new rear panel, maybe new bumper (or repaired being the easier/cheaper option) then respray including blending in etc

So not sure how much that would cost plus labour for all the above

NotoriousREV 29 January 2009 08:52 PM

Get Ira to take a look.

Does he do work for Keith Michaels ?

Been out to have another look (although dark now) the rear panel over the arch is pretty shot, but *may* be able to be repaired but then Im no expert and it may be easier to replace the panel
as respray will still be needed, door is definately shot, glass is ok, but door is twisted and crumpled, the interior door panel looks ok though

WRX_Dazza 29 January 2009 09:00 PM

mate, you can take it wherever to get sorted, just get the relevant quotes, but its your choice....

good luck with it, as least you are covered. more than i am when my crank seal decided to let go!!! :)

keep us posted :)

Tam the bam 29 January 2009 09:00 PM

Doubt it'll be written off Steve, still it is a pisser getting your pride and joy hit by a useless woman driver, I think they should be banned from driving and chained to the kitchen sink! ;) :D

NotoriousREV 29 January 2009 09:02 PM

No, Ira as in the owner of a bodyshop and owner of a modified Forester, used to go to the Walton Arms meets. You can tell your insurance who you want to fix it.

I know who Ira is LOL

I just asked if he has done work for Keith Michaels

Im not sure how things work re repairs etc, as its not something Ive had to deal with before

I am a bit limited around these parts for quotes if I have to get several

Just waiting to speak to Moley about the procedures etc

NotoriousREV 29 January 2009 09:18 PM

He's done insurance work for me so it shouldn't be an issue.

Cool

Do you still have his contact details, dont think ive got them anymore

NotoriousREV 29 January 2009 09:21 PM

Yeah, I'll pm you

Connor_scotland 29 January 2009 09:29 PM

Not good at all mate

GC8 29 January 2009 09:35 PM

If her insurers are paying then you can insist that they repair it. People seem to accept constructive write-offs from insurers because its easier and cheaper for them: dont!

Sonic' 29 January 2009 09:45 PM

Cheers Rev :thumb:

Simon, her insurers 'will' be paying, I don't want it written off, as it would mean I would have to get myself another car as the other one wont really do long distance :lol1:

She is with Direct Line, so not sure how they work, but I will be insisting on it being repaired

Ant 29 January 2009 10:22 PM

mine got written off 6months ago with a lot less damage , they let me buy it back for £400 quid and £2400 cash.

i got it repaired for £200 :thumb:

and plus side as they was at fault they couldn't be bothered to register it as a cat d

dunx 29 January 2009 11:52 PM

Gutted, I had two white van tw*ts try the same move, both trying to exit T-junctions as I turned in.... both on Tuesday morning. Luckily I swerved and managed to miss both  (the second was a wimmen too  ) What is wrong with people ?

Good luck with the "project" !

dunx

Janspeed 30 January 2009 12:10 AM

B1tch Basterd!

Muppet driver!

Leslie 30 January 2009 01:45 PM

Really sorry the see that Sonic. Her excuse is a bit like the old one about some chap saying that everyone knows that he turns right at a particular junction on a Saturday at 10 o clock!

Hope it all gets repaired to your satisfaction.

Les

Had a few games today getting things sorted, Moley (Keith Michaels) has been great though :thumb:

The Claims dept didnt want to do anything until the other party's insurers admitted liabilty which they were reluctant to do as they havent had the full story from the woman, and they have been unable to contact her

Anyway eventually this afternoon I got a phonecall back to say that Enterprise would be calling to arrange for a hire car, and that an engineer would be coming out to inspect the car, Enterprise phoned and we sorted out a car, so I currently have sat on the drive a Chrysler Sebring (not a bad car tbh) courtesy of Direct Line, the womans insurers

Then the local insurance repair company phoned and asked could I take the car to them for inspection (they told me they are under instructions to inspect only and not to carry out any work until further notice) I explained that the car cant be driven as it is unsafe to do so, and they said they dont send inspectors out normally

I explained that I may want someone else to do the work anyway (Ira :thumb:) and they then told me that I shouldnt be getting a hire car until mine goes in for repair

I phoned the police and logged the accident with them and got an incident number and passed that back to my insurers, then went to the docs this afternoon as I have some pains and pins and needles in my lower back, as has my passenger at the time of the incident

Hopefully it wont take too long to get an estimate off to the insurers

Anyway Here are a couple more pics of the damage, and there is damage to the alloy, and the boot isnt lined up correctly now over the rear light cluster too :(

Ouch, that doesn't look good :( Hope you get it sorted quickly and painlessly :)

Sonic' 30 January 2009 08:37 PM

Cheers

If you take a look at the first pic in my last post you can see I have already made a start on the repairs :lol1:

DJ Dunk 30 January 2009 08:41 PM

Works wonders :lol1:

Slightly optimistic with the T cut there:lol1:

cossie-nutter 30 January 2009 08:47 PM

Good to see things are on the move and that's total bollox about sending people out to inspect cars they are just trying it on!

Anyways all the best buddy hope it gets sorted!

finalzero 31 January 2009 02:04 AM

get it on a proper jig, worth spending the money as they will not only take out any kinks from the accident but also sort any other chassis anomolies that you had in the past.

If the jig work comes back 100% your sorted, just need some talented hands to get the car back into tip top shape (which I am sure it will).

jpor 31 January 2009 09:27 AM

Although I wouldn't wish it to happen to anyone, had damage done to my first scooby parked up in the works carpark a few years back  , unfortunatley it was a hit and run :nono: . So luckily you caught the person who did the damage to yours.:)
