Stripped interiors?... Worth it?

To the people who have stripped their interior, has it been worthwhile regarding weight saving? And any pics to accompany your comment.

Thinking about it for my daily drive, but also want to make it into a track car also.

I am no stranger to stripped interior as a daily drive, just considering it for my classic.
Heres a previous example of mine

get ready for some serious noise inside then, depending on what exhaust you have, mine is a bloody nightmare for noise when the rear seats are out and i still have my sound proofing in! :freak3:

i love noise as well, when im in the mood for it, when it gets to the point you cant hear your stereo when you want to it gets a bit annoying

If your car is a daily driver, don't do it.

At first it's awesome and when you drive down the road you think you're driving a proper rally car.

The reality is the novelty very very quickly wears off to the point it proper gets on your tits.

I did it with my last one, removed all carpets and sound deadening, removed back seat and had a roll cage, bucket seats and harnesses.

My new car will remain in full factory trim.

I may remove seats for drag/track days but in everyday form it will stay as subaru intended.

i took my seats out a few months ago , car sounded sweet and felt more agile plus it looked ok .

put them back in on sat due to it being inconvienient really . only 2 seats and it was hard to drive people about ect (family) plus my missus has a two seter so if there was a group id have to take both cars which is annoying . it was also freezing on these cold mornings and took ages to heat up .

it is more snug now and sounds a tad more refined when driving . only takes 10 mins to remove it all so it can go in and out when i feel like it but for practicallity they are staying in for now .

What weight saving do you gain by removing seats etc ????

I can't imagine the performance is that different ???

unless you want to be deafened leave them in, i take mine out for trackdays and such but thats just cause i sometimes take a spare set of wheels with me and dont want to put them on the seats

My newage is stripped out. Front seats were 30kgs each with all the rails etc. Rear set wieghs a couple of Kgs only. All sound deadening is a few Kgs, rear seat bracing is another few Kgs, rear seatbelts and fasteners are quite a few Kgs too.

I would say only do it if you are going to do it all. The front seats are the biggest gain, but you have to get some light seats to replace them. I had Recaro Apex as they are 7.5 KGs each but slightly cheaper than the next level and the same shell.

Doing the interior makes it really really loud. But my exhaust is 93db anyway, but still loud in there driving to work and back.

There are a few front members that you can take out from the front of the car too, but I'm not going to mention which ones as I won't be responsible for people cutting their cars up and making them potentialy scrap by getting it wrong. But, we saved 80Kgs from the front. Note that Type RAs don't have them anyway.
