just 1 more thing, what is the sensor for under the alternator?

subaru ra500 24 January 2009 08:09 PM

oil pressure

thewhitewarrior 24 January 2009 08:15 PM

so does the oil light use that sensor, and come on when the oil pressure is low?

subaru ra500 24 January 2009 08:25 PM

yep more of a dead engine light than low oil pressure

thewhitewarrior 25 January 2009 02:02 PM

sorry to e a div on this but can i use that sensor under the alternator for the oil temp and the new adapter on the top of the engine (cylinder 3 bung) for oil pressure, thanks phil.

thewhitewarrior 25 January 2009 04:59 PM

anyone?

thewhitewarrior 25 January 2009 09:11 PM

.....

thewhitewarrior 26 January 2009 05:02 PM

yes?

mit 26 January 2009 08:53 PM

I've just fitted an oil temp in the 3rd cylinder position, i understand it's the hottest cylinder, so the best place to take the temp form.
The pressure positon is above the oil pump for a good pump pressure reading.

The 3rd cylinder port's a pain to get to, be warned!

mit 26 January 2009 09:09 PM
