Engine Management Light On
I booted it in 2nd gear all of a sudden a bang noise from exhaust and a shudder from the car then the engine management light came on.
Last time this happened on of the hoses disconnected Today I could not spot any hoses disconnected I will be checking all the pipes etc tomorrow, but without the use of a computer diagnostic any help appreciated on what it may be or what to look for. Thanks, Shailan |
What year is your car?

connect the greens under the steering and read the code
|
the car is a 2005 wrx ppp with extra mods recently done by subaru4you - sports cat and mapped by jollygreenmonster,
this was done 2 months ago and since then no probs. |
I'd say if you cant see anything obvious under the bonnet, then get it plugged into some software.

update -
I removed the DV this morning and replaced with standard valve. Also checked the oil level which was on min, and topped up. Now the engine management light has gone off. This must have been due to left overnight and am sure not to do with DV. I read some previous posts about overboost and engine management light on with high flow cat or de cat. I assume its to do with this. Anyway will keep an eye on it. Thanks for all responses. |

unfortunately I only spotted this as it was on the underside a few weeks ago, so had to put up with this for far too long. Anyway pipe changed on the weekend, was a tough job as the only way to get in was to remove the inlet manifold. but now the car seems fine. :) |
